Do not connect the device along with other consumers (with a high wattage) to a mul-
tiple socket in order to prevent overloading and a possible short circuit (fi re).
Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
Never wind the mains cable around the device.
Never pull or carry the device by the mains cable.
Never immerse the device, adapter, mains cable or mains plug in water or other liq-
uids and ensure that they cannot fall into water or become wet.
Should the device or the adapter fall into water or should liquid get into them (apart
from the water reservoir), switch off the power supply immediately. Never attempt to
pull the device out of the water while it is still connected to the mains power! Have the
device checked in a specialist workshop before using it again.
Never touch the device, adapter, mains cable or mains plug with wet hands when
these components are connected to the mains power.
Never exceed the maximum fi ll level to prevent overfl owing (note the max marking on
the water reservoir!). Use tap water to fi ll the device.
Never direct the steam directly at mains cables or parts containing electrical compo-
nents (such as inside ovens, fridges, at switches and lights, microwave ovens).
Switch off the device and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket
– if a fault occurs during operation,
– before it is cleaned or
– before a thunderstorm.
Use the device only in closed rooms.
Do not operate the device in a very damp environment.
Risk of Fire
Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and
explosive fumes.
Do not operate the device in the vicinity of combustible material.
Be aware of damage caused by fi re! Never iron on one spot for too long.
Always place the device upright on its base even during short pauses in ironing and
do not place it down on the bottom of the iron. Pull out the mains plug during longer
pauses.
Immediately after ironing, place the still hot device down a minimum distance of
15 cm away from walls, furniture and other objects.
Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device
Only iron on a stable, fl at, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant surface. We recom-
mend that you use a standard ironing board.
Do not iron over zips, studs, clips etc. to prevent any scratching of the coating on the
bottom of the iron.
Never iron on surfaces made from glass or plastic.
Never cover up the steam nozzles and do not insert any objects into them.
