- CAUTION: Oil that falls from the chain or guide bar
after stopping the chain saw pollutes the ground.
Always sit on a suitable surface.
If the machine has been subjected to stresses
beyond the scope of normal use (e.g. if it has been
subjected to violent stresses, in the event of
shock or fall), before restarting it, it is essential to
ensure that it is in perfect working order.
Check in particular the tightness of the fuel system
and the reliability of the safety devices. Under no
circumstances should you continue to use
the machine if it is not in the pristine condition
required to ensure safe operation.
If in doubt, consult your specialist dealer.
During labor
When working in a tree, always secure the pruning
saw with a cable, secure the cable to the tie-down
ring and hang it on the safety rope. Before releasing
the chain saw retained by the cable, always apply
the chain brake.
Hold the chain saw firmly
with both hands. High risk
of accident: right hand on the
control handle, this also
applies to left-handed
people. To be able to guide
the machine in complete
safety, firmly grasp the
tubular handle and the
control handle, circling them
Working with one hand is especially dangerous
when cutting wood dry or dead, e.g. chain does not
sag of itself in the wood.
Under the effect of the reaction forces, the chainsaw
begins to "waddle" and "bounce" and may describe
uncontrolled movements. The user then risks losing
control of the machine.
Great risk of rebound!
RISK OF FATAL INJURY!
Always stand in a stable and secure position. Take
extra care when the bark of the tree is wet. RISK OF
SLIDING!
In case of emergency or imminent danger, stop the
engine immediately, place the universal control
lever / stop switch in the STOP position, 0
Never leave the chain saw running unattended.
Take particular care on slippery, wet, snow or ice
covered ground, as well as when working on a
hillside, on uneven ground or on wood that has just
been debarked (or on pieces of bark). RISK OF
SLIPPING!
Watch out for tree stumps, roots, ditches, so as not
to risk stumble !
Do not work alone, always remain within earshot of
other people who can be called for help, these
people must be equipped with training required on
how to respond to an emergency. Helpers in the
work area should also wear protective clothing.
with your thumbs.
safety (helmet!). These people should not stand
directly below the branches to be cut.
When working with ear protectors, special care must
be taken, noises indicating danger (screams, sound
signals, etc.) are less noticeable.
Take breaks in good time so as not to risk reaching
a state of fatigue or exhaustion which could lead to
an accident!
Dusts (eg wood dust), vapors and fumes given off
during sawing can be harmful to health. In case of
clearance dust, wear a dust mask.
When the engine is running and the throttle trigger
is released, the chain still rotates for a few moments
by inertia.
Do not smoke while working or near the chainsaw.
FIRE HAZARD !
Flammable gasoline vapors can escape from the
fuel system.
Check the chain at short regular intervals and
immediately if its behavior changes:
- stop the engine, wait for the chain to stop;
- check the condition and correct fixation;
- check the sharpness.
While the engine is running, do not touch the chain.
If the chain is blocked by any object, immediately
stop the engine and only then remove the jammed
object.
RISK OF INJURY!
Before leaving the chainsaw:
stop the engine.
To replace the chain, stop the engine to exclude the
risk of accidentally starting the engine. RISK OF
INJURY!
Keep away any easily flammable material (e.g.
shavings, pieces of bark, dry grass,
fuel) from the exhaust gas flow and from the very
hot muffler. FIRE HAZARD !
Catalyst mufflers can reach a very high
temperature.
Never work without lubrication chain, therefore it is
necessary to always monitor the oil level in the tank.
If the oil level in the reservoir is too low,
work must be stopped immediately.
If the chain saw has been subjected to
stresses outside the scope of normal use (e.g. if it
has been subjected to violent forces, in the event of
an impact or fall), before putting it back on
when operating, it is imperative to ensure that it is in
perfect working order.
Check in particular the tightness of the fuel system
and the reliability of the safety devices. Under no
circumstances should you continue to use
the chain saw if it is not in the pristine condition
required to ensure safe operation. If in doubt,
consult the specialist dealer.
Make sure that the idle speed is correctly adjusted,
so that after releasing the trigger accelerator the
chain is no longer driven. Regularly check and
