Before each use
Make sure the chainsaw is in perfect condition
for safe operation.
- Check the fuel supply system for leaks, paying
particular attention to visible parts such as the fuel
filler cap, hose connections, primer pump
manual (only on chainsaws fitted with a manual
priming pump). Do not start the engine if it is leaking
or damaged: RISK OF FIRE!
Before putting the chainsaw back into service, have
it checked by a specialist dealer;
- Flawless functioning of the chain brake and the
front hand guard;
- Perfectly assembled chain guide;
- Correctly tensioned chain;
- The throttle trigger and the throttle trigger lock
must operate easily, as soon as it is released, the
trigger
accelerator must return to the starting position,
under the effect of its return spring;
- The combined cursor must be able to be easily
brought to the STOP, 0 position;
- Check the tightness of the ignition cable contact on
the spark plug - a loose contact can cause sparks to
fly which could ignite the fuel mixture which may
have escaped - risk of fire!
- Make no changes to the control and safety
devices;
- Handles must be clean and dry - free from oil and
other dirt
- A very important point so that the chainsaw can be
handled in complete safety;
- Make sure that the tanks contain sufficient fuel and
chain lubricating oil.
It is forbidden to use the chainsaw if it is not in
perfect working order. RISK OF ACCIDENT!
Start-up
For this procedure, always choose a flat area. Stand
in a stable and secure position. Hold the chainsaw
firmly.
The cutting device must not come into contact with
the ground or with any object.
risk of injury as the chain may
be already trained to start up.
The chainsaw is designed to be operated by one
person.
Do not tolerate the presence of other people
in the working area, not even when starting the
engine.
Do not start the chain saw with the chain in a cut.
Getting started in a tree is very dangerous. The
operator may lose control of the chain saw. RISK
OF INJURY!
A helper on the ground should control the pruning
saw, refuel, start the engine and warm it up, at the
base of the tree, before raising the machine towards
the person working on the tree.
To start the engine, go at least 3 m from the place
where you have refueled and do not start the engine
in a closed room.
Lock the chain brake before cranking the engine,
otherwise the chain may be pulled when starting.
RISK OF INJURY!
- Don't work alone. Someone must be nearby in an
emergency.
- Make sure that there is no one (neither children
nor adults) in the working area of the chainsaw. Also
be aware of the possible presence of animals in the
work area.
- Before starting your work, you must check the
chainsaw to make sure that it is working perfectly
and without any danger, in accordance with the
regulations.
Check in particular that the chain brake works well,
that the chain guide is mounted correctly, that the
chain is sharp and tight, that the sprocket cover is
securely mounted, that the gas lever moves easily
and that the gas lever lock is working properly, the
handles are clean and dry, and the power switch is
working.
- Do not start the chain saw until it has been
completely assembled.
Never operate the chain saw until it is completely
assembled.
- Before starting the chainsaw, make sure you have
a good footing.
- To start the chain saw, proceed only as described
in this instruction manual.
No other method of starting is permitted.
- When switching on, the chain saw must be well
supported and grasped firmly. The guide bar and
the chain must not come into contact with any
object.
- When working with the chainsaw, always grip it
with both hands. Grasp the rear handle with the
right hand and the tubular handle with the left hand.
Grasp the handles firmly, with your thumbs
facing the fingers. It is very dangerous to work with
one hand, since you risk losing control of the saw
after the cut is completed (high risk of injury). In
addition, it is impossible to control a return shock
using
with one hand.
- CAUTION: When you release the gas lever, the
chain continues to turn for a short time (freewheel).
- Make sure you keep a good footing at all times.
- Hold the chainsaw in such a way that you do not
breathe the exhaust gases. Do not work in a closed
room (danger of poisoning).
- Immediately stop the chain saw if you notice any
abnormal operation.
- The engine must be switched off before checking
the chain tension, tightening it, replacing it or
correcting any malfunctions.
- If the sawing device hits stones, nails or other hard
objects, immediately switch off the engine and
check the sawing device.
- When you interrupt your work or leave the work
area, turn off the
chainsaw and put it down so that it does not present
a danger to anyone.
- Do not place the chainsaw on dry grass or any
flammable object when it is very hot. The silencer is
then very hot (risk of fire).
