Timer Function

CAUTION!
■ Only activate the timer function when there is suffi cient water in the water tank and
suffi cient coffee powder in the permanent fi lter or coffee beans in the coffee bean
container.
The device can be set so that the grinding process and / or the brewing process
starts automatically at a desired point in time.
1. Make sure that the correct time is set on the device (see the "Use" chapter, "Setting
the Time" section).
2. Fill the coffee machine with coffee powder or coffee beans (see the "Use" chapter,
"Making Coffee" section).
3. Place the coffee jug (8) onto the hotplate (7).
4. Set the start time you want:
– press the Uhr / Timer (clock / timer) button (21) for a long time. The time display
fl ashes.
– Set the hours (24-hour mode) with the Std (hr) button (15).
– Set the minutes with the Min button (16).
– The time display stops fl ashing after around 10 seconds if no further entry is made.
The display (13) shows the
(clock / timer) button (21) lights up. The timer has been set.
5. The grinding process and / or the brewing process will start automatically at the set
time.
6. To deactivate the timer function, press the Uhr / Timer (clock / timer) button (21).
The symbol and the control lamp go out.
The device saves the set timer time. This can be reactivated at any time by briefl y
pressing the Uhr / Timer (clock / timer) button (21).

Cleaning and Descaling

CAUTION!
■ Danger of burns! The hotplate, the permanent fi lter, the fi lter holder, the fi lter com-
partment and the fi lter cover are hot during the brewing process and immediately
afterwards. There may also be hot water inside the permanent fi lter and fi lter holder.
Only touch any of the parts once they have cooled down.
■ The device is not dishwasher-safe. Only the coffee jug, the fi lter cover, the permanent
fi lter and the fi lter holder can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
■ Never immerse the device, the mains cable or the mains plug in water.
■ Remove the mains plug from the plug socket before cleaning the device.
■ Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning. These can damage
the surface.
1. Make sure that the device is switched off and not connected to the mains power!
2. Remove the fi lter holder (10) from the fi lter compartment (9).
