5. Place the coffee jug (8) (with the lid closed) onto the hotplate (7).
6. Press the Mahlwerk aus (grinding mechanism off) button (20) to switch off the
coffee grinder. The control lamp next to the button lights up.
7. Use the Tassen 2-12 (cups 2-12) button (14) to select the number of cups to be
brewed.
8. Start the brewing process with the Start / Stop button (17).
9. After the end of the brewing process, you will hear a triple beep and the device will
switch to stand-by mode.
Using Coffee Beans
1. Insert the permanent fi lter (11) into the fi lter holder (10) and insert this into the fi lter
compartment (9). Make sure that it fi ts correctly.
2. Place the fi lter cover (12) on the permanent fi lter (11).
3. Fold down the fi lter compartment (9). It must engage audibly.
4. Open the lid for the coffee bean container (1).
5. Pour the quantity of coffee beans you want into the coffee bean container (3) (gener-
ally one teaspoonful per cup).
6. Close the lid for the coffee bean container (1) again.
7. Use the rotary dial for setting the grinding fi neness (4) to set the grinding fi neness
you want.
8. Place the coffee jug (8) (with the lid closed) onto the hotplate (7).
9. Use the Tassen 2-12 (cups 2-12) button (14) to select the number of cups to be
brewed.
10. Press the button

Keeping Coffee Warm
CAUTION!
■ Never place an empty coffee jug on a warm hotplate! The material could be damaged.
1. Once all of the coffee has run through, the coffee machine switches itself off automat-
ically. The display illumination goes out after around 25 seconds.
2. If the coffee is to be kept warm for a longer period of time, press the Warmhalten
(keep warm) button (18). The
lamp next to the Warmhalten (keep warm) button (18) lights up.
3. If the coffee jug (8) is empty, press the Warmhalten (keep warm) button (18) again
to end the keep-warm function. The
keep-warm function automatically ends after around 35 minutes if the device is not
switched off before this.
