6. Riding your Pedelec
The Max Drive system provides assistance while pedaling. You can also, however, ride your pedelec normally with no assistance.
Assistance is limited to a preset level based on the regulations in your area.
The cutoff speed in the EU is 25 km/h, and 20 mph in the US.
Before you ride
Consult the included pedelec manual for pre-ride checks.
Read, understand and follow all the instructions and safety warnings in this and all operating instructions included.
Make sure to remove the battery lock key.
Use Correct Gears
To maximize battery range and reduce wear on the drive train, begin pedaling on one of the lower gears. Before coming to a
stop, shift to a lower gear.
The optimal cadence range is around 60-80 rpm. Use your gears and choose an assistance level appropriate for the terrain to
maintain this cadence. Excessively low or high cadence reduces battery range.
Do not use high gear with high assist level and "mash" the gears. This will severely reduce drive train life.
