8.0 Electrical connections to junction box:
Refer to SECTION 4.0 and verify that Junction Box is configured for the
installation selected. JUNCTION BOX MUST BE CONFIGURED before
completing 8.0.
CAUTION:
• Receptacle Mounting Means not grounded.
Grounding wire connection required. For isolated
ground wiring; connect ground leads to separate
isolated grounding conductor. See NEC 250-146 (D).
IMPORTANT: Steel Conduit Fittings are required on Data openings to
maintain UL fire rating. Steel Conduit Fittings and conduit are required on
power opening to maintain UL Fire Rating. (See Section 1.4 for fire rating).
NOTE: Side or Bottom Junction Box Covers may be used to access
conductor and ground wires after conduit is installed to Junction Box.
8.1 Bottom Cover Plates can be used for Power or Data by placing Conduit
Connection to Bottom of Junction Box. When installing 1" conduit to the
bottom of Junction Box, thread steel fitting directly into 1" threaded hole
in bottom Junction Box Cover. Connect conduit and steel fittings per
National and Local Electrical Codes. Cover un-used bottom Junction Box
compartments with furnished Covers (see Figures 21 and 22). Use Long
Screws "G" for bottom Covers (See Figure 23). NOTE: Bottom Junction Box
Covers can be arranged to service any Power or Data configuration (See
figure 22 for cover options).
8.2 Side Cover Plates can only be used for Power by placing Conduit
Connection to Side of Junction Box. When installing 3/4" or 1" conduit to the
side of Junction Box, remove corresponding KNOCK-OUT and connect
conduit and steel fittings per National and Local Electrical Codes
(See Figure 20 and 21). Use Short Screws "F" for side covers (See figure 23).
8.3 Electrical Wire Connection. In Electrical Compartment of Junction Box,
remove SIDE or BOTTOM cover not used for conduit connection by
removing (2) screws. Attach all power and ground wires according to Local
and National Electrical Codes.
Note: Ground wires are provided in all three divided compartments of
Junction Box, ground all power connections.
(See Figures 5, 6, 7, 8, 20 and 21).
