7.0 Install data device:
Data Devices may be installed BEFORE or AFTER Poke-Through is inserted
into hole. For illustration purposes Data is shown being installed AFTER
insertion.
Data MUST exit bottom of Junction Box and avoid undue bends on cable.
(See Figures 20 and 21). Data cables must pass through steel Conduit
Fitting and Junction Box Bottom Covers before they are connected to
Mounting Plates (see Figure 22 for selection of Bottom Junction Box
Covers).
IMPORTANT: Steel Conduit Fittings are required on Data openings to
maintain UL fire rating. Steel Conduit Fittings and conduit are required on
power opening to maintain UL Fire Rating. (See Section 1.4 for fire rating).
7.1 The RPT6 is designed to be used with any standard duplex style or
rectangular style (15/16 in x 25/8 in) Data Jack Mounting Plate. A cat 6
keystone 6-port plate is shown in illustrations.
7.2 Remove all Side Mounting Ears from Data Jack Mounting Plate and trim
mounting straps to 3/4" wide. (See Figure 17).
7.3 Pull Data Cable through steel Conduit Fitting, hole in Bottom Junction Box
Cover Plate and into Junction Box. Route Data Cables up through selected
Gang to connect to Data Plate. Data Jacks may already be terminated prior
to routing through poke-through. Junction box cover plate may be
loosened from junction box when routing cable. (See Figure 18). NOTE: If
(2) or (3) Gangs have been designated for DATA, Junction Box bottom
cover E and D may be used on bottom of Junction Box (see Figure 22).
7.4 Make all required data connections to data plate.
7.5 Secure Data Plate(s) to Poke-Through. Use screws furnished with Data
Mounting Plate. Screws must pass through holes in Cover Plates, holes in
Data Mounting Plate and thread into tapped holes in 3-Gang Recessed
Mounting Surface. (See Figure 18 and 19).
7.6 Re-attach Bottom Junction Box Cover with screws furnished.
7.7 Figure 19 shows top view with all Power and Data installed.
