Troubleshooting

Sound cannot be heard from the
speakers.
The unit does not work at all.
"AUX IN/ EXT IN" cannot be selected.
Sound is sometimes interrupted while
listening to an external component
connected to the auxiliary input jack.
Nothing appear on the display.
The correct characters are not displayed
(e.g. album name).
SSM automatic presetting does not
work.
Static noise while listening to the radio. Connect the aerial firmly.
"AM" cannot be selected.
Disc cannot be played back.
CD-R/CD-RW cannot be played back
and track cannot be skipped.
Disc sound is sometimes interrupted.
"No Disc" appears on the display.
"Please Eject" appears on the display.
"In Disc" appears on the display.
Disc cannot be played back.
Noise is generated.
"Reading" keeps flashing on the display. A longer readout time is required. Do not use too many hierarchical

Adjust the volume to the optimum level. / Make sure the unit is not

Check to be sure the recommended stereo mini plug is used for
connection. (page 21)
Check the <Color Setup> setting. (page 23)
This unit can only display letters (capital: A – Z, small: a – z),
numbers (0 – 9), a limited number of symbols ( ! / " / # / $ / % /
& / ' / ( / ) / / + / , / – / . / / / : / ; / < / = / > / ? / @ / – / ),
and spacing.
Store stations manually.
Check the <Source Select> = <AM Source> setting. (page 25)
Insert the disc correctly.
Insert a finalized CD-R/CD-RW (finalize with the component which
you used for recording).
Stop playback while driving on rough roads. / Change the disc. /
Check the cords and connections.
Insert a playable disc into the loading slot.
This occurs sometimes due to over-heating. Eject the disc or change
to another playback source.
The disc cannot be ejected properly. Make sure nothing is blocking
the loading slot.
Use a disc with MP3/WMA tracks recorded in a format compliant
with ISO 9660 Level 1, Level 2, Romeo, or Joliet. / Add the
extension code <.mp3> or <.wma> to the file names.
Skip to another track or change the disc.
