2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Das Gerät entspricht allen erforderlichen Richtlinien
der EU und ist deshalb mit
gekennzeichnet.
WARNUNG Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefähr -
licher Netzspannung (230 V~) ver-
sorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb nie selbst
Eingriffe am Gerät vor. Durch un -
sachgemäßes Vorgehen besteht die
Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlages.
Beachten Sie auch unbedingt die folgenden Punkte:

Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung im Innenbe-
reich geeignet. Schützen Sie es vor Tropf- und
Spritz wasser, hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und Hit ze
(zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).

Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Gefäße,
z. B. Trinkgläser, auf das Gerät.

Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb und ziehen
Sie sofort den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose,
wenn:

anschlussleitung vorhanden sind,

2 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit is supplied with hazardous
mains voltage (230 V~). Leave ser-
vicing to skilled personnel only. Inex-
pert handling may cause an electric
shock hazard.
Please observe the following items in any case:

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range 0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the
unit, e. g. a drinking glass.
G
Do not operate the unit or immediately disconnect
the plug from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled
personnel.

3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Dieser CD-Spieler ist speziell für den Einsatz in ELA-
Beschallungsanlagen konzipiert. Er kann z. B. als
Musikquelle für Hintergrundmusik dienen und ist für
eine ununterbrochene Musikwiedergabe mit einem
6-fach-CD-Magazin ausgestattet.
4 Transportsicherung entfernen (Abb. 7)
WICHTIG!
Vor der Inbetriebnahme unbedingt die drei Trans-
portsicherungsschrauben auf der Ge räteunter -
seite entfernen! Die Schrauben sorgfältig auf -
bewahren und vor einem Transport wieder
hineinschrauben. Sie dienen zur Sicherung des
CD-Laufwerks, das federnd gelagert ist. Wird der
CD-Spieler ohne die Sicherungsschrauben trans-
portiert, kann er beschädigt werden und der
Garantieanspruch erlischt.

Never pull the mains cable for disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the plug.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
chemicals or water.

nected, operated, or not repaired in an expert way.

Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac cor-
d ance with the follow ing code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:

1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol
low.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
If the unit is to be put out of operation defin-
itively, take it to a local recycling plant for a
disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
3 Applications
This CD player is especially designed for PA appli-
cations. It can serve e. g. as music source for back-
ground music and is equipped with a 6-fold CD mag-
azine for uninterrupted music reproduction.

Der PA-2406CD ist für die Montage in ein Rack
(482 mm/19") vorgesehen, kann aber auch als frei-
stehendes Tischgerät verwendet werden. Für den
Einbau in ein Rack werden 2 HE benötigt (HE =
Höheneinheit = 44,45 mm).
Vor dem Anschluss bzw. vor dem Verändern von An -
schlüssen den PA-2406CD und die anzuschließen-
den Geräte ausschalten.
1) Den Ausgang des CD-Spielers an den Eingang
des nachfolgenden Gerätes anschließen (Misch-
pult, Verstärker, Endstufe). Je nach vorhande-
nem Eingang den XLR-Anschluss (21) für eine
Mono-Wiedergabe oder die Cinch-Buchsen (22)
für eine Stereo-Wiedergabe verwenden.
2) Soll der CD-Spieler bei einem Netzausfall weiter-
arbeiten, die Anschlüsse DC POWER (20) mit
einer 24-V-Notstrom einheit (z. B. PA-24ESP von
MONACOR) verbinden.
Hinweis: Liegt die 24-V-Spannung von der Notstrom-
einheit an den Anschlüssen DC POWER an, lässt sich
der CD-Spieler mit der Taste MAIN POWER (4) nicht
ausschalten. Bei einem Netzausfall oder wenn zum
Ausschalten die Taste MAIN POWER betätigt wird,
schaltet der CD-Spieler automatisch auf die Notstrom-
versorgung um.
3) Zu den Anschlussmöglichkeiten der Buchse RE -
MOTE CONTROL (23) siehe Kapitel 6.9.
4) Zum Schluss das beiliegende Netzkabel zuerst in
die Netzbuchse (18) und dann in eine Steckdose
(230 V~/50 Hz) stecken.
4 Removing the Transport Security (fig. 7)
IMPORTANT!
Prior to setting into operation remove in any
case the three screws of the transport security on
the lower side of the unit! Carefully keep the screws
and screw them in again prior to a transport. They
serve for securing the CD player mechanism which
is spring-suspended. If the CD player is transport -
ed without the security screws, it can be damaged
and the warranty expires.
5 Placing and Connecting the CD Player
The PA-2406CD is provided for rack mounting
(482 mm/19") but it can also be used as a table top
unit. For the installation into a rack 2 rack spaces are
required (1 rack space = 44.45 mm).
Prior to the connection or changing of connections
switch off the PA-2406CD and the units to be con-
nected.
1) Connect the output of the CD player to the input
of the following unit (mixer, amplifier, power
amplifier). According to the available input use
the XLR connection (21) for a mono reproduction
or the phono jacks (22) for a stereo reproduction.
2) For continuous operation of the CD player in case
of a mains failure, connect the terminals DC
POWER (20) to a 24 V emergency power supply
unit (e. g. PA-24ESP from MONACOR).
Note: If the 24 V voltage of the emergency power sup-
ply unit is present at the connections DC POWER, the
CD player cannot be switched off with the button MAIN
POWER (4). In case of a mains failure or when the but-
ton MAIN POWER is used for switching off, the CD
player is automatically switched to the emergency
power supply.
3) For connection possibilities of the jack REMOTE
CONTROL (23) see chapter 6.9.
4) Finally connect the supplied mains cable to the
mains jack (18) first and then to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
