1 - GENERAL INFORMATION AND CHARACTERISTICS
1.1

GENERAL REMARKS

This manual of use and maintenance is an integral and
essential part of the appliance and it has to be delivered
to the final user. It has to be kept handy and read
carefully before installation, because it provides you with
basic instructions for
operation and a correct maintenance of the appliance.
For any doubt or for more information consult the
manufacturer.
A use of the appliance other than the one for which it
has been conceived is not allowed, because it is
improper and dangerous.
The manufacturer of this appliance will not be liable,
either direct or contingent, for any damage caused by a
wrong use or a bad installation of the appliance or, in
any case, for any damage in the event these instructions
are not followed.
ATTENTION

for mistakes or inaccuracies that might be contained
in this manual. This manual describes the appliance
as it was when this booklet was passed to press.
In case of technical problems or for orders of spare
parts, consult the manufacturer quoting the following
data:
 registration number
 year of production
 purchasing date
 detailed information of the defect verified on the
appliance
ATTENTION
Where components need replacement, we
advise that only original spare parts are
used. The manufacturer will not be liable in case of
bad operation of the appliance caused by non -
original spare parts.
1.2 DATA BADGE
The data badge of this appliance is placed on the left
side of the tray. The registration number and the year of
production of the appliance are quoted on it. These data
are required in case of orders of spare parts or of
reports of technical problems to the manufacturer.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE

Solar energy cannot be ignored, being an effective
solution to the more and more frequent world-wide
problems of energy consumption.
Being aware of this, the manufacturer offers a storage
solar water heater to
interested in solar energy beeing, at the same time,
worried about the overall cost of a solar water heating
system.
This appliance provides users with domestic hot water,
exploiting solar energy and it can be used independently
or as a back-up to conv7ntional hot water system. It is:

 Easy to be installed: Thanks to its frame it can be
located in any place. Furthermore, it needs neither
electrical supply nor electrical components such as:
storage batteries, pumps and control boxes.

Panel has a square shape. Its small size in comparison
with its large storage capacity, the fact that it does not
need any electromechanical devices and its frame make
the installation easier nearly anywhere.
This appliance is manufactured using high quality
weather-resistant materials that have been selected on
the one hand to increase solar energy absorption, on the
other hand to make the working life of the appliance
longer, thus reducing maintenance costs.
On demand it can even be equipped with a heater
to
element.
Furthermore, the solar water heater is frost resistant (up to -20
°C): it has been tested by KIWA ITALIA S.p.A. according to
EN12975-2:2006

DESCRIPTION OF COMPONENTS

The appliance is a storage solar water heater made up
of 4 parts:
 In the upper part there are 2 methacrylate cupolas,
a special material that increases the greenhouse
effect, having a transparency coefficient higher than
crystal.
 In the lower part there is 1 ABS treated tray
externally coated with a film of methacrylate; it is
internally insulated with expanded polyurethane with
closed cells to avoid heat losses.
 The storage tank is in steel internally coated with
enamel (2 injection of enamel). Its external surface
is coated with a black highly selective paint. Its
special shape and structure make the tank highly
resistant to pressure, avoiding any possible breakage
due to frost.
 The external frame is in hot dipped galvanised steel.
It can be positioned easily, according to the user's
needs and adjusted with different angles.
Its easy way of operating and the fact that it does not
need any maintenance interventions are the main
peculiarities of Panel.
The semi spherical shape of the tank and the direct heat
exchange (without heating fluids) improve the efficiency
of the appliance and increase the domestic hot water
output. The particular shape of the water heater and its
small size avoid the sail effect (caused by wind) that is
typical of flat solar collectors.
Enamelling is the best treatment that can be done on
steel tanks that, because of their use, come in contact
with sanitary hot water. First of all it protects from the
natural galvanic corrosion that inevitably develops inside
the tank; furthermore it limits the adherence and the
prolification of bacterium.
