2 - INSTRUCTIONS TO THE INSTALLER
The pressure relief and non return valve sup plied with
the appliance must be fitted to the cold water inlet (the
arrow on the valve must be pointing towards the tank),
without any interception between the valve and the water
heater (1).
This valve has a double function:
safety function: it allows the discharge of the water
stored inside the tank in case the pressure exceeds
the limit fixed by the valve setting
non-return function: it avoids that, because of the
high pressure that may arise inside the tank, the hot
water flows back along the cold water tube
ATTENTION
If the appliance is installed in Italy, the
pressure
relief
appliance must be replaced with a safety group in
accordance with the UNI rule EN 1487:2002 (as
required by The Memorandum N° 9571 dated 26/03/03
issued by Ministry of Productive Assets - G.U. N° 87
of 14/04/03). In case of non-installation of a safety
group in compliance with the rule EN 1487, the
manufacturer will be exempted from any warranty
claim on the tank.

Fitting of the drain valve
The fitting of a drain valve (2) is recommended to empty
the tank: it has to be installed between the safety valve
and the appliance.

INSTALLATION OF THE APPLIANCE

Installation of a single unit
If just one appliance is installed, it has to be connected
to the water system directly.
Installation of several appliances in a row
If several units are to be installed, the appliances have
to be connected as shown in the diagram. Foresee just
one pressure relief and non return valve that has to be
fitted to the cold water inlet of the first appliance.
Frame
To give the water heater the right angle, use support
brackets and screws included in the frame. Once you
have determined the right angle of installation, you have
to match the hole in the bracket with the hole in the
frame (1): then insert the bolt and tighten the nut (2). To

give the appliance an angle different from the ones
foreseen by the manufacturer, drill the frame in order to
obtain the desired angle.
ATTENTION
For a good operation of the appliance the
right angle of installation is 35° in relation to
a hypothetical flat surface: in this way the sun rays
are perpendicular to the absorption surface, getting
the highest performance.

MAGNESIUM ANODE
To extend the working life of the appliance, respect the
following parameters, as foreseen by the European
Directive 98/83/CE (regarding the quality of water
intended for human use):
overall water hardness: included between 15 and 50
°F (in particolar where water has undergone a
softening or desalisation treatment)
chlorides: 25 mg/l (max value 200 mg/l)
pH: included between 6,5 and 9,5
conducibility: 400 µS/cm (max value 2500 µS/cm)
Where water does not suite the above parameters, the
warranty will decay automatically.
The solar water heater is equipped with a magnesium
anode (1) that protects the tank against galvanic
corrosion.
It has to be replaced every 8-12 months.
To replace the anode:
close the water supply
reduce pressure in the water system opening a hot
water tap
remove the anode protection (2)
unscrew the anode holder (3)
remove the old anode and replace it with the new one
(4)
screw the plug being sure that the tightness is
granted
close the hot water tap
