■ Always turn off the device fi rst and pull the mains plug out of the socket before you
add more water!
■ Never use the device without water in the water tank. The pump could be damaged if
the device is operated without water.
■ Do not overfi ll the water tank. Observe the corresponding MIN and MAX marks.
■ Do not leave the device unattended so that you can immediately intervene in the
event of malfunctions (e.g. overfl owing etc.).
■ Clean the device regularly after use as described in the chapter "Care and storage".
The milk tank should be cleaned EACH time before it is refi lled!
A. Setting up the device
1. Place the device on a fl at, solid and heat-resistant base.
2. Make sure there is adequate space to kitchen cupboards etc.
B. Inserting and fi lling the fi lter compartment
1. Insert the fi lter compartment in the device. Make sure that the drip guard is secured
in the corresponding recess and that both sides of the fi lter compartment lock into
the catches.
2. Insert a fi lter, e.g. a paper fi lter.
3. Fill the fi lter with the desired amount of coffee grounds. Do not overfi ll the fi lter so that
the water in the fi lter compartment does not overfl ow.
C. Filling the water tank
1. Fill the water tank with water. Observe the MIN and MAX marks on the tank.
2. Close the cover and make sure that it is correctly seated.
D. Connecting and activating the device
Once the device has been fully assembled as well as the water tank has been fi lled, you
can connect the device to the mains.
1. Connect the device to a properly installed socket that corresponds to the device's
technical data. Make sure that the cable does not get pinched or kinked and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces.
2. The On/Off switch is located in the front of the device. Move the switch to position I to
turn the device on. The power light in the On/Off switch will light up.
3. If you would like to switch off the device after the brewing process, set the On/Off
switch to position 0.
E. Brewing coffee
1. Place the glass pot under the coffee spout.
2. Turn the device on with the On/Off switch. The power light in the On/Off switch will
light up.
3. Wait until no more coffee comes out of the coffee spout. Now you can remove the
glass pot.
