OPERATION AND SERVICE INFORMATION
Read all of manual to become thoroughly familiar with this vehicle. Pay particular attention to all Notes, Cautions and Warnings

LUBRICATION

Do not use more than three (3) pumps of
grease in any grease fitting at any one
time. Excess grease may cause grease
seals to fail or grease migration into areas that could damage
components.
Putting more than three pumps of grease in a grease fitting
could damage grease seals and cause premature bearing
failure (Ref. Fig. 35 on page 20) (Ref. Fig. 36 on page 20).

new spark plugs should be properly gapped before
installation (Ref. Fig. 39 on page 22). Apply a light coat of anti-
seize compound and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (24 Nm) torque.
Fouled spark plugs are indicated by a wet, black
appearance. This could be caused by a dirty air filter
element or other restrictions in the air intake system.
Ball Joint
Incorrectly adjusted valves, spark plug wires which are in
poor condition or poor quality fuel could also contribute to
the problem.
Steering Unit
DIRECTION SELECTOR (Dual Cable system)
The direction selector is a mechanical device that operates
cables connected to the rear axle. The cables are sealed
and do not require lubrication, but may require occasional
adjustment (Ref. Fig. 37 on page 20). The only other
maintenance required is periodic lubrication of the linkage
and related moving parts.
