Plug The Machine Into The Mains; Assembling The Variostar 357/457; Assembling Variostar 357-2 / 457-2 - Fronius VARIOSTAR 357 Mode D'emploi

Warning! If the machine is designed to run on a special voltage,
the Technical Data shown on the rating plate apply. The mains
plug and mains supply lead, and their fuse protection, must be
dimensioned accordingly.

PLUG THE MACHINE INTO THE MAINS

Before attaching the mains plug, check whether the welding transformer
and the auxiliary transformer are switched for the correct mains voltage:
- remove the right side panel from the power source
- compare the terminal board and the welding-transformer circuit diagram
- compare the terminal board and the auxiliary-transformer circuit
diagram
- fit the right side panel of the power source back on

Warning! Mains plugs must be suitable for the mains voltage and
the current input of the welding machine (see Technical Data)

Mounting the FK 57 cooling unit - Fronius-type power sources
- Shift the mains switch to the "O" position
- Remove the left housing-panel from the power source
- Take off the protective cover
- Insert the control plug (8-pole) from the cooling unit through the lead-
through in the housing
- Slot the cooling unit, with its four location pins, onto the power source
- Using a screw, fix the cooling unit from inside the power source
- Plug in the (8-pole) control plug from the cooling unit, the right way
round
- Connect the water forward-flow and return-flow hoses to the connectors
on the cooling unit, red-to-red and black-to-black
- Replace the protective cover
- Replace the housing panel

Fronius type
Mounting the FK 57 cooling unit - Fronius F++ / Dinse / Euroconnector
type power sources
- Shift the mains switch to the "O" position
- Remove the left housing-panel from the power source
- Take off the protective cover
- Insert the control plug (8-pole) from the cooling unit through the lead-
through in the housing
- Place the forward and return-flow hoses through the housing lead-
through
- Slot the cooling unit, with its four location pins, onto the power source
- Using a screw, fix the cooling unit from inside the power source
- Plug in the (8-pole) control plug from the cooling unit, the right way
round
- Remove the blind plastic covers from the lead-throughs
- Remove the plastic nuts from the couplings of the forward and return-
flow hoses
- Insert the couplings of the forward and return-flow hoses through the
housing lead-through
- Tighten the couplings of the forward and return-flow hoses with the
plastic nuts
- Replace the protective cover
- Replace the housing panel

Mounting the FK 57 cooling unit
- Shift the mains switch to the "O" position
- Remove the left housing-panel from the power source
- Insert the control plug (8-pole) from the cooling unit through the lead-
through in the housing
- Place the forward and return-flow hoses through the housing lead-
through
- Slot the cooling unit, with its four location pins, onto the power source
- Using a screw, fix the cooling unit from inside the power source
- Plug in the (8-pole) control plug from the cooling unit, the right way
round
- Fit the housing panel back on
Mount the interconnecting cable to the power source
- Shift the mains switch to the "O" position
- Remove the left housing-panel from the power source
- Place the interconnecting cable into the recess provided
- Plug in the (16-pole) control plug of the interconnecting cable, the right
way round
- Screw the cable lug on the end of the 'plus' lead onto the bolt, using
the screw and washer provided
- Connect the water forward-flow and return-flow hoses to the connectors
on the cooling unit, red-to-red and black-to-black
- Replace the housing panel
