Assembly and height adjustment
NOTE: Before commencing assembly, consult suitably trained staff on the correct height adjustment to ensure the
best support for the person using the walker, and also on the correct use of the brakes.
1. Ensure all wheels are in good condition and turn freely.
2. Ensure that the pannier is correctly attached and that all retaining snaps are fastened.
3. To assemble the walker, attach the front and rear wheels using the push button latches on the rear wheels and the
„C" latches on the front wheels. Insert the handles but do not tighten them yet.
4. Attach the seat to the frame and lock with the latches.
To adjust the height of the seat, unfold the frame of the walker to the open position and push on the seat until all four
wheels come out and the crossbar is aligned as shown in figure l. The height of the seat is adjusted by shifting the
mechanisms of the castors embedded in the frame and locking them in the set position with the appropriate latches.
Make sure that you can hear a click when the clamps are locked, that all the wheels are touching the ground, and
that the walker is stable.
6. To adjust the height of the handles, perform the following steps:
a. Stand upright behind the walker, relax your shoulders and lower your arms alongside your body, looking straight
ahead.
b. The handles of the walker should now be adjusted so that they are level with your wrists.
c. In this way, when using the walker, the user's arms will be bent to an angle of approximately 20-30 degrees.
d. Make sure handle holes and frame align.
e. Insert the handles of the handles into the properly aligned holes in the handles and the frame, and then tighten
them firmly, but not excessively.
7. Check the brakes carefully before using the walker. NOTE: the brakes have been adjusted by the manufacturer
and, if correctly assembled, do not require readjustment before use. How to check the brakes: Apply and release the
parking brake ten times on each side. (The brake locks by pressing the lever down and releasing it by pulling it up).
The applied brake should immobilize the wheel and prevent it from moving. When released, the gap between the
brake lining and the pulley should be 3-4 mm. If one of the above conditions is not met, adjust the brake as described
in the maintenance section and check its operation again.
8. Make sure all remaining nuts, bolts, and screws are tightened securely.
Disassembling the AT51112 walker
1. Take one handle and press down on the seat until all four wheels are folded out and the seat is flat.
2. Before using the walker, make sure that all four wheels are touching the ground and that the walker is stable.
Assembling the AT51112 walker
1. Lift the seat and lift its support until the walker is folded, as shown in fig. 2.
2. To further reduce the dimensions of the folded walker, the backrest can be folded down.
Going
A walker is a walking aid device.
Enables a natural gait as the user distributes his body weight between the handles of the walker being led in front
of him.
Sitting down
When using the AT51112 sit down walker, strictly follow the precautions on page one, in particular:
l. Make sure the parking brake is applied.
2. Do not use the seat without the backrest reclined to the appropriate position.
3. Do not use the seat cushion with the walker on an inclined or uneven surface.
4. Do not exceed the user's maximum weight.
5. Do not use the walker as a wheelchair.
Checking and applying the brakes
1. Always make sure the brakes are fully functioning properly before using the walker.
2. Check the operation of the brakes by pulling the brakes upwards, as shown in fig. 1a - the walker should not move.
3. Push the brake levers up to activate the parking brake. An audible click means that the brake is in the correct
position - the walker should not move (see Figure 1b). Note that both levers must be pressed when using the parking
brake. To release the parking brake, the levers must be raised.
4. If the rear wheels of the walker still move when the parking brake is applied or the brake lever is pulled up while
moving, stop using the walker immediately. It must not be used until the brakes have been checked and adjusted.
