In the winter, the heat-recovery unit ensures energy-effi -
cient ventilation in your dwelling, using the energy from
the stale exhaust air to heat the supply air to a comforta-
ble temperature. In the summer the system ensures ener-
gy-effi cient cooling of your dwelling. The system employs
the following options for this purpose:
• Where possible your selected comfort temperature
is maintained by opening the WHR's bypass valve.
Thereby guaranteeing continued ventilation while
ensuring cool supply air. This process usually runs
at night.
You will know that the bypass is activated when a sym-
bol appears on the ComfoControl Luxe:

• When the comfort temperature can no longer be
maintained by opening the bypass valve, then the
system begins active cooling by activating a cool-
ing circuit. This may be required on a hot, sunny
summer's day, or if there is a lot of sunlight in your
dwelling. The system lowers the temperature of the
supply air, cooling your home. Moreover, the system
extracts moisture from the air, adding to a pleasant
indoor climate.

4. Operation

Your ventilation system with cooling is controlled using
the ComfoControl Luxe operating panel. This is a touch
screen that displays information and buttons. Consult the
ComfoControl Luxe manual for more detailed informa-
tion. The system's key functions are:
• The ventilation level. Select from the following set-
tings:
• Absent

equipped ventilation system tries continuously to
maintain the temperature of the room in which the
operating panel is located at the set comfort tem-
perature. It may have to open the bypass or acti-
vate the active cooling to realize this objective. For
more information, read section 3.
• The comfort temperature can be set to between
COOL and WARM, with temperatures varying
from 18˚C to 24˚C.

setting if you wish to cool the dwelling consider-
ably.
• If WARM is selected, then the active cooling will
never be activated and the bypass remains closed.
Use this setting when you turn the heating up.
• Your heat-recovery unit is fi tted with a system that
detects whether it is summer or winter. In the sum-
mer, the active cooling can be activated, while this
is not desirable under normal winter conditions. All
the same, if you wish to use active cooling in the
winter, then set the temperature to COOL.
• Active cooling can be deactivated. In the screen
in which the comfort temperature can be entered,
you will see a button that can be set to either "Artic
Auto" or "Artic Off". Select "Artic Off" if you do not
wish to use active cooling, even if your dwelling gets
warmer than the required comfort temperature.

5. Maintenance

Please make sure your cooling-equipped ventilation sys-
tem is checked and cleaned by a fi tter once every 4 years.
Note: Only a recognized cooling-technology fi tter may
disassemble and clean the Comfortunit.
Cleaning condensation drain
Your ventilation system is fi tted with siphons for the
condensation drain. When running, the Comfortunit dis-
charges no more than 2.5 litres of condensation an hour.
It is therefore important that the siphons and especially
the drain's waste-water connector are clean and clear of
blockages. Check your condensation drain once a year.
Cleaning ventilation valves
Your ventilation system is fi tted with valves for air supply
and air exhaust. Exhaust valves are fi tted in the wall or
ceiling of the kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Supply valves
are fi tted in the wall or ceiling of the living room and the
bedrooms. If the valves become visibly dirty, then clean
them. Hold the valve on its outer edge and pull it with a
rotating movement entirely from the wall or ceiling. Clean
the valve with soap, then rinse it and dry it. Always re-
mount the valve in the wall or ceiling in the same way you
removed it. Take care not to swap the valves, and try to
avoid altering the valve settings.
Filters
Your WHR is equipped with fi lters that prevent the WHR's
heat exchanger from becoming contaminated with dust. It
is very important that these fi lters are cleaned or replaced
occasionally. Consult the WHR manual for instructions.

6. What to do?

6.1. My operating panel indicates a
malfunction
If the system detects a malfunction, then it notifi es
you of this via the display. A code will be displayed
on the screen consisting of a letter and a number.
