STARTING _______________________________________________________________

IMPORTANT: Do not use starting assist fluids. Use of
such fluids in the air intake system may be potentially
explosive or cause a "Runaway" engine condition and
could result in serious engine damage.
1. Make sure fuel shut off valve is completely open, the
backlap switch is off, and the tow valve is closed.
2. Sit in operator's seat, make sure the reel/3-WD
switch (I) is OFF and the parking brake is engaged.
Remove feet from pedals. Always use the seat belt
when operating tractors equipped with a ROPS.
3. Move throttle lever (A) between 1/8 to 1/2 throttle.
Turn ignition switch (H) to RUN
a. Gas Units - Pull choke lever (D) to fully close
choke plate.
b. Diesel Units - Depress glow plug switch (C) for
about 3 to 5 seconds, then release the switch.
The colder the temperature, the longer it will take
to energize plugs. This step is not necessary
when starting a warm engine.
4. Turn ignition switch (H) to START position and
release as soon as engine starts. Do not hold the
key in the START position for more than 15 seconds
at a time.
5. Gas Units - Slowly push choke lever (D) in to open
the plate.
