If you work with a double lanyard (Y-system), always hook in both lanyard arms. The free end of the lanyard
must not be hooked/secured in the full body harness! Otherwise the system will be bypassed and the tape
fall absorber bridged / excluded in case of a fall.

6.2 Adjustable A.HABERKORN lanyards of straps or ropes

Basically these lanyards are designed for work positioning and restraint systems (according to EN 363), because the work position
can be individually adjusted thanks to their adjustment possibilities. However, they can also be combined with a tape fall absorber
(according to EN 355), in order to have a fall arrest system (according to EN 363). In this case the total maximum length must not
exceed 2 m. When used in a fall arrest system, the tape fall absorber on the fall arrester eyelet on the full body harness must be
connected with a connector (according to EN 362).
Assembly of the lanyard to a work positioning belt and / or a full body harness:
Adjustable lanyards with "adjustable eight".
Insert the end loop through the right fall arrester eyelet of the work positioning belt
(for right-handers) and pull the rope or strap through the end loop starting with the
karabiner hook. The necessary length is adjusted with the "adjustable eight". See
figures 7.1-A and 7.1-B. The karabiner hook must be hooked to the anchor point
or, if looped round a pole, into the second fall arrester eyelet - Secure the
karabiner lock to avoid unintentional opening.
Adjustable lanyards with "fall arrester".
Attach the lanyard with the karabiner on the fall arrester to the right fall arrester
eyelet (for right-handers) - Secure the karabiner lock to avoid unintentional
opening. The useable rope length can be continuously adjusted by pressing the
clamp strap.
When climbing poles, for example, the lanyard has to be looped round the pole in
a way that free fall is limited to 0.5 m at the most.
The lanyard can be removed and replaced anytime (note different application
period).
Functional test before each use:
The used fall arresters are direction dependent. Hold the lanyard at the
permanently attached karabiner and pull the karabiner in the fall arrester with a
jerk - the fall arrester must block immediately without sliding. Also check the
karabiner locks for smooth running and secure locking

6.3 A.HABERKORN lanyard of rope slings

The lanyards of rope slings are available in different lengths. These
lanyards are designed for experienced users in order to allow individual
use. We recommend unpractised users have relevant training or
consultancy before using these products.
These lanyards can be combined with absorption elements (according to
EN 355), with connectors (according to EN 362) and with a removable fall
absorber, which has been approved for the respective rope.
Only one absorption element (according to EN 355)
may be enclosed in a system. If double systems are
designed, an absorption element (according to EN 355)
must be installed in a way that both system arms can
release the absorption element under the force of a fall.
ATTENTION: Fall absorbers are direction dependent with regards to
their use/function - the manufacturer's instructions for use must be
taken into account. Rope slings may only be combined with
approved fall absorbers (see table 7.3-T1).
