3. SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

3.1 Adjustments

All adjustment and conversion operations must be carried out by Qualified Personnel.
The manufacturer declines any responsibility for damage or physical injury caused by unqualified and unauthorized
persons tampering with the device.
2-stage burner
The burner unit is divided into two separate parts (stages), each one of which is governed independently by one
or two gas valves, flame control unit and pilot burner. Partial (1st stage) or total (1st + 2nd stage) burner ignition
enables the unit to supply 2 separate power outputs according to the system's needs.
Adjusting the burner gas pressure
PEGASUS LN 2S boilers are made to burn natural or liquid gas. The pressure setting and test are performed in the
factory.
However, as there may be changes in supply pressure, at the time of the first ignition it will be necessary to check
and perhaps adjust the pressure at the nozzles, observing the values given in the technical data chart in paragraph
4.3.
The operations for adjusting the pressure are performed with the boiler working, using the pressure controls on
the gas valves.
1st stage
Connect a pressure gauge to pressure point "A" (fig. 8a-8b) located below the 1st stage gas valves.
Turn the boiler thermostat knob onto maximum.
Remove the gas valve protection plug 1 (fig. 4-5) and adjust the gas pressure at the burner by turning the screw
beneath onto the desired setting (see technical data table).
On 10-18 element models, adjust both 1st-stage gas valves.
2nd stage
Connect a pressure gauge to pressure point "B" (fig. 8a-8b) located below the 2nd stage gas valves.
Remove the protection plug 2 and adjust the gas pressure at the burner by turning the screw beneath onto the
desired setting (see technical data table).
On 10-18 element models, adjust both 2nd-stage gas valves.
