Mounting

Caution!
!
Before mounting check whether the control valve complies with the operating and safety stipulations ap
plying at the installation site.
The control valve should preferably be mounted vertically with the actuator facing upwards. Other mounting positions are
also permitted, however, they should be availed of only when absolutely necessary as they increase the extent of wear (e.g.
on the guide bushing of the valve spindle).
Attention must be paid to the correct direction of flow when mounting.
Angle valve:
Inlet lower connection – Outlet side connection
Straight through valve:Inlet lower connection – Outlet upper connection
(in all cases on the housing side)
Caution!
!
The mounted valve may only be supported by the pipeline. Mounting aids are not permitted on the ac
tuator.
Control valves are flow restrictors featuring a high flow velocity in the restrictor section (seat/cone). The flow medium must
not contain any solid particles as they would produce mechanical damage to the seat/cone.
The ambient temperature at the actuator must be within the range 20...+80 oC.
The positioner attached to the actuator needs supply air. The max. pressure permitted is 6 bar. The supply air must defi
nitely be clean and dry in order to assure disturbance free operation.
Please consult the nameplate for more information on the positioner design (e.g whether pneumatic or electric signal and
whether supplementary functions have been incorporated). Information on the positioner design, functions and versions of
the positioner supplied is given in the operating manual "Positioner".
The actuator can be aligned freely in its position with respect to the line connections (and the line connections can be freely
aligned in the case of the straight through valves). To do this, the clamp ring connection on the case must be severed.
Caution!
!
To align the actuator on the case of valves with direction of action "Air opens/spring force closes", the
cone must first be removed from the seat, e.g. by issuing a positioner signal.

Commissioning

The control valve is ready for operation immediately after mounting the fittings in the pipeline and connecting the lines to
the positioner. There is no need for any adjustments.
