Application and Brief Description

The hygienic control valves 23/26 are final controlling elements for continuous control and influencing product streams in
pipelines. The housing of stainless steel 1.4571 has a smooth surface, hence complying with hygienic demands.
The fittings are CIP compatible.
The housing has the following features:
Nominal size: DN 25...125, as angle or straight through valve
Connectors with threads acc. to DIN 11851 or with welded ends
The lateral connections can be mutually aligned as well as with respect to the actuator.
Easy mounting/dismantling by virtue of clamp ring connection
Seat (or housing undersection) and cone easy replaceable
The actuator is a pneumatic, multispring diaphragm actuator made of stainless steel. Multispring diaphragm actuators are
small, compact actuators with a low constructional height. They are actuated by compressed air and reset by spring force.
By valve actuation, 2 directions of action are possible.
Air opens/spring force closes
or
Air closes/spring force opens
Adaption to the controlling torque needed in each case can be effected by 2 sizes (diameters) as well as by using a different
number of springs (spring forces). In addition, the air pressure can be specified for actuation with up to 6 bar.
In general, the multispring diaphragm actuator must be equipped with a positioner, which forms a single integrated unit
together with the diaphragm actuator. An internal channel hole establishes connection between the positioner and dia
phragm chamber (no outer piping). The stroke pickup is protected and has a backlash free roller pickup with automatic
reset.
Using the positioner, the correcting range (e.g. 0.2...1 bar or 4...20 mA) is converted to the stroke signal (0...100 %). Con
version is effected rapidly and accurately by means of automatic control. Gland friction and the adaption of the controlling
torque to the changing product pressures exert no influence on the stroke to be controlled.

Installation and Commissioning

3.1
Scope of delivery
Check version and actual delivery content for compliance with the order. The control valve is supplied fully mounted, i.e.
valve complete with actuator, any applicable options as well as the attached positioner, already set to the specified con
necting range. Apart from this Operating Instructions manual, there are no other loosely packed enclosures.

Safety instructions

Important Instructions for Your Safety. Please read and observe.
Correct and safe operation of the Control Valve calls for appropriate transportation and storage, expert in
stallation and commissioning as well as correct operation and meticulous maintenance.
Only those persons conversant with the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of similar
apparatuses and who possess the necessary qualifications are allowed to work on the Control Valve.
Please take note of
– the contents of this Operating Manual,
– the safety regulations affixed to the apparatus,
– the safety regulations pertaining to the installation and operation of electrical systems,
– the safety regulations applicable when dealing with gases as well as
– the directives and guidelines on explosion protection.
The directives, norms and guidelines mentioned in this Operating Manual are applicable in the Federal Re
public of Germany. When using the apparatus in other countries, please observe the national regulations
prevailing in the respective country.
This Control Valve has been designed and tested in accordance with DIN VDE 0411 Part 1, "Safety require
ments for electronic measuring apparatuses", and has been supplied in a safe condition. In order to retain
this condition and to ensure safe operation, the safety instructions in this Operating Manual bearing the
headline "Caution" must be observed. Otherwise, persons can be endangered and the Control Valve itself
as well as other equipment and facilities can be damaged.
If the information in this Operating Manual should prove to be insufficient in any point, we will be delighted
to give you more information.
