Rectifying minor faults yourself

Before you call the after−sales service
Check whether you can rectify the fault yourself by using the notes below. You must bear the costs for consultations with the
after−sales service yourself − even during the warranty period.
If the fault persists, remove the mains plug from the socket and contact the after−sales service.
Fault
The LCD TV will not switch on (the red
standby LED does not light up).
The remote control does not work.
No sound/picture.
Normal picture but no sound.
The volume is too low.
The picture is black and white or
displays the wrong colours.
Blurred or distorted picture, distorted
sound.
The picture is too bright or too dark.
The picture is washed out or too dark.
Small red, green, blue, white or black
dots occasionally appear on the screen.
Condensation between the glass cover
on the door and on the screen.
Remedy
Check:
S that the mains cable is plugged into a socket.
S that the power switch is in the ON position.
Check:
S that the batteries are not flat.
S that the batteries have been inserted correctly.
S whether there is an obstacle between the remote control and the infrared
sensor on the LCD TV.
Make sure that the infrared sensor of the remote control is not exposed to bright
lights.
Check:
S that the mains cable is plugged into a socket.
S that the power switch is in the ON position.
S that the POWER button has been pressed.
S the image contrast and brightness settings.
Check:
S the volume.
S whether the MUTE button on the remote control has been pressed.
S the volume level on the external input.
Check:
S the volume.
S the volume level on the external input.
Check:
S that you have selected the correct TV system.
S that the video cable of the external appliances is connected correctly.
Check:
S the signal source.
S the condition and connection of the aerial cable.
S the alignment, position and connection of the aerial.
Check the image contrast and brightness settings.
The ambient temperature is too low. This phenomenon disappears when the
temperature rises.
This is normal and does not affect the performance of the LCD TV.
This can happen when there are high levels of humidity or during sudden
temperature changes. It does not affect the performance of the LCD TV and
disappears by itself after a few minutes.
Do not place the appliance in front of a cold air flow (e.g. from an air
conditioning unit).
