GRMF SERIES GAS FRYERS
1. Follow filtering instructions 1-4, however do not put oil treatment media into the fryer if
discarding the oil. Add oil treatment if flushing the tank. Drain the fryer oil into the filter pan.
2. Attach the female end of the hose to the male quick disconnect fitting.
3. To DISCARD the oil, place nozzle end of the hose into a container that is large enough to
retain the discarded shortening.
4. To start the discard pull the Yellow DISCARD lever rod forward and the
Motor/Pump will begin to operate. NOTE: Oil will exit immediately out of
the nozzle end of the hose. See Fig 7.
5. Once the oil has been discarded completely and the filter pan is empty, push the Discard
Lever back in. The Motor/Pump will stop. Press the Filter Switch to the OFF position.
6. Close the drain valve and remove the hose. The hose connection will be hot due to the
temperature of the oil that was discarded. Be careful to let the hose drain before putting
away.
7. Fill tank with new oil to the MIN line on the fry tank.
8. To RINSE the tank with filtered oil to remove the particulates that have accumulated repeat
steps 1-4. Hold the nozzle end of the hose over the fry tank. NOTE: Oil will exit immediately
out of the nozzle end of the hose when pulling the yellow DISCARD lever towards you.
9. When tank is completely rinsed, push the yellow DISCARD lever back in and the motor/pump
will stop. Drain the hose of excess oil. Repeat step 6.
10. Pull the red handled FILTER lever towards you. See Fig 6. The motor / pump will begin and
oil will flow back into the fry tank. The oil will flow into the back of the tank towards the front
filling up the fry tank.
12. It is normal to see air bubbles in the tank when the filter pan is emptied. The motor / pump
sound will change when the filter pan is empty of oil which is normal. Push in the red FILTER
handle lever to turn off motor/pump.
13. Press the FILTER switch to the OFF position. Turn the Gas lever to the ON position. Fig. 5a.

necessary.
15. Turn the Thermostat knob to the desired temperature. Burners should turn on and the oil
should begin to heat.
16. Repeat this procedure for the remaining tank(s) in the battery.
17. When finished filtering and the filter assembly has cooled down to room temperature, clean
all of the filter components as in step 1 under Assembly section on page 17.
