INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND PRECAUTIONS:
The WINCH is a person rescue device by elevation or descent (EN 1496:2017 class B), it can also be used to descend, lift or position a person during his/
her work, provided it is used in combination with a fall arrest system in accordance with EN 363. It is not a fall arrest device.
Its operating capacity is 20 m (FA 60 023 20 – 6 mm wire rope / FA 60 023 20R – 6.5 mm synthetic rope) for a maximum load of 135 kg. The winch has
a double braking system, which allows to block automatically the rope once the crank is released.
When using the winch to rescue a person, always limit the usage for one person at the same time. After each operation (lifting or descent of a person), first
test the winch by manually lifting and descending a few centimetres by putting pressure on the rope (wear gloves during this operation).
It must be used in combination with a single TRIPOD overhead pulley (FA 60 001 00 / FA 60 002 00) as these are equipped as standard with a winch
fixing plate (anchorage point no. 2 – see TRIPOD manual) or with a TRIPOD double overhead pulley (FA 60 101 00 / FA 60 102 00) in combination
with the universal adaptation kit FA 60 101 02. The set of elements (positioning pins, retaining pins, etc.) cannot be lost. The tools required for the
installation on the TRIPOD are supplied.
It can be used on other structures, provided that you think to fix the adapting plate. In this case, it must be sized appropriately and the host structure must
be able to support the load applied to the plate (R > 12 kN).
This winch is also a load lifting device (compliant with the Machine Directive 2006/42 /EC), so it can be used to lower or lift loads. In this case, its
operating capacity is 20 m for a maximum load of 250 kg. The WINCH meets the resistance tests of the EN 13157:2004 +A1: 2009 standard.
After each operation (lifting or descent of a load), first test the winch by manually lifting and descending a few centimetres by putting pressure on the
rope (wear gloves during this operation).
The winch can be used for lifting and/or lowering a person in case of rescue, and should not be used for lifting/descending loads in the same time; each
operation must be done one after another.
Fig. 1
NOTE: Installation must be done in such a way that the winch is positioned on the outside part of the TRIPOD legs, in order to have a maximum space
in the inside part of the TRIPOD, to have the rescuer farther from the potential drop zone and to have better stability of the TRIPOD.
• Installation on TRIPOD references FA 60 001 00 and FA 60 002 00:
1.
Position the winch A on the plate B. (Fig. 1)
2.
Position the screws C in the plate's holes then screw in diagonally and block the four screws which link the fixing plate to the rescue winch
(screw M8X75).
3.
Unroll the rope by turning the crank of the rescue winch anticlockwise.
4.
Place the rope through the center hole of the tripod head D. (Fig. 2)
5.
Place the rope on both pulleys E.
6.
Set up both retention pins F.
The rescue winch is ready to be used.
• Installation on TRIPOD references FA 60 101 00 and FA 60 102 00 (in this case, it must be set up with the universal plate reference FA 60 101 02):
1.
Position the ½ plate FA 60 101 01A on the TRIPOD with the two axes provided for this purpose and lock with the axis pins, the plate must
be set up on a foot equipped with a pulley at the head.
2.
Remove the pin from the ½ WINCH plate (FA 60 101 02P) and fix the WINCH on this plate with the two screws provided (screws M12x25)
and lock the 2 screws.
3.
Place the ½ WINCH plate on the ½ TRIPOD plate, first positioning the 2 notches of the WINCH plate on the axis of the TRIPOD plate, then
putting WINCH plate pin through the two plates. Lock with the BETA pin provided for this purpose.
4.
Follow the above operations from point 3 of the previous paragraph "Installation on TRIPOD references FA 60 001 00 and FA 60 002 00".
