BLOCK COOLANT PLUG
The LT4 Gen-V engine feature oil-spray piston cooling, in which eight oil-spraying jets in the engine block drench the
underside of each piston and the surrounding cylinder wall with an extra layer of cooling, friction-reducing oil. The oil spray
reduces piston temperature, promoting extreme output and long-term durability. The extra layer of oil on the cylinder walls
and wristpin also dampens noise originating from the pistons.
Flexplate
The supplied flexplate is designed for a rear transmission. Chevrolet performance parts offers a standard flexplate (part
number 12620099) that maybe used (verify torque convertor bolt pattern). This flex plate has 6 evenly spaced (60 degrees
apart) attachment holes on a 281mm (11.063") diameter spacing, for the torque convertor.
