d) Align the marks on the motor head and
the guard and turn the guard in a clockwise
direction as shown in Fig. D5.
e) Keep turning the guard until it locks into
position. Insert the screw and tighten. The
guard is now installed (see Fig. D6).
The guard has a very sharp cutting edge that
is used for cutting the trimmer line. Take great
care when attaching the guard (D7)

2. Fitting the Auxiliary Handle
The unit may be fully assembled; however, this
section provides full assembly details, should
you require to diassemble and re-assemble the
tool.
a) Fit the auxiliary handle onto the support
bracket on the trimmer shaft as shown in Fig. E.
b) Attach the locking wheel onto the support
bracket with it's two pins while aligning the
wheel with the holes in the bracket
c) Pass the securing bolt through the holes in
the auxiliary handle.
d) Secure the lock knob onto the bolt and
tighten.
3. Adjusting the Auxiliary Handle
The auxiliary handle can be adjusted by turning
the lock knob, located at the base of the handle,
counter-clockwise to release the handle. Set the
handle to the desired position and tighten the
lock knob by turning it clockwise (see Fig. E).

1. Trimmer Shaft Adjustment
Adjust the trimmer shaft to the correct working
length for your physical size by pulling on the
lower height adjustment locking mechanism (8)
to unlock it. Pull the lower shaft section away
from the upper section until the desired length
is reached and release the locking mechanism
(see Fig. F).
The cutting head can be changed from
horizontal to vertical (I.e. for edging function)
by pull the upper locking collar (9) and turning it
counter-clockwise. The lower shaft and cutting
head will rotate 180°. Release the locking collar
and the shaft will lock in position. The trimmer is
now ready to be used as an edger.

2. Nylon Cutting Line
Check the length of the nylon cutting line by
pulling the line to the inner edge of the guard.
If the line is very short, i.e. more than 2 inches
(50 mm) away from the edge of the guard, push
down on the centre of the cutting head and at
the same time, pull the line outward (see Fig.
H). When the trimmer starts, the line will be cut
to the correct length automatically.
