4.17 KF : K factor

Accessible on current harmonics (A + HARM), on AC and AC + DC mode, with the "yellow" button.
Reminder : The K factor makes it possible to establish the type of transformer to use (overheating withstand)
as a function of the current harmonics produced by the load of this transformer.

4.18 HARM : Measurement of harmonics

The HARM button allows, by successive presses, measurement of the Total Harmonic Distortion, the Distortion
Factor, and return to the main function, AC/DC currents or voltages.
NB : The HARM button is only active for A AC/DC and V AC/DC only in AC and AC + DC modes.
The combination of
by order.
If measurement in harmonics is impossible (fundamental frequency outside of the operating range) the
displays indicate an indeterminate value (- - - -).
THD : Total Harmonic Distortion
A first press on the HARM button : THD is displayed.
The display in the middle gives the value in % of the total harmonic distortion, and the lower display, the rms
value of the signal.
Reminder : The THD quantifies the total presence of harmonics (up to the 25th) in relation to the
DF : Distortion Factor
A second press on the HARM button: DF is displayed.
The display in the middle gives the value in % of the distortion factor and the lower display, the rms value of
the signal.
Reminder : The DF quantifies the total presence of harmonics (up to the 25th) in relation to the rms value
Harmonic rate and distortion rate, order by order up to the 25th

See the connection diagram for the powers (Ch 9. APPENDIX). Measurement on 3-phase is only precise for
sinusoidal signals.
Having selected the main functions, the AC/DC,
associated quantities :
- W
: active power
- VA
: apparent power
- VAR
: reactive power
- PF
: power factor
- DPF
: displacement power factor
- Hz
: frequency of the voltage
Reminder : The DPF corresponds to the phase shift of the two fundamental components of the signals U
and I. In the case of sinusoidal U and I signals, the DPF is equal to Cos ϕ.
