Activation of the machine
• Make sure there is enough water for your needs (2 Fig. 1), if not, fi ll with
mineral water as indicated in the paragraph ''Filling with mineral water''.
• Press the switch (9 Fig. 1) into "ON", the light will go on indicating that the
line is active or that it is ready to begin coff ee extraction (10 Fig. 1).
• The heating of the water in the boiler is automatically initiated.
• Wait for the visual signal given by the temperature light, when it goes on it
is ready to use (11 Fig. 1).

PREPARATION OF COFFEE

• Open the capsule-holder compartment (4 Fig. 5) raising the lever (5 Fig. 1).
• Place a capsule (13 Fig. 5) in the capsule-holder (4 Fig. 5).
• Lower the lever (5 Fig. 1).
• Place the cup on the grill (7 Fig. 1) and press the switch (12 Fig. 1) into "ON"
to begin extraction of coff ee. When it reaches the desired quantity press
the switch again (12 Fig. 1) into "OFF" to cease extraction.
• The capsule shall be automatically unloaded into the
container (6 Fig.1) when you raise the lever again (5 Fig.1).
NOTE: Once the extraction of coff ee is over always leave the capsule-holder
compartment closed (4 Fig. 5) and place the lever (5 Fig. 1).
The drawer for used coff ee capsules (6 Fig. 1) may contain a
maximum of 12 capsules. When this number is reached, the
drawer must be pulled out and emptied.
After 8-10 extractions of coff ee it is advisable to throw away the
capsules contained in the drawer (6 Fig. 1).

CLEANING

Before cleaning, always unplug the machine (8 Fig. 1)\.
• In order to clean the main body (1 Fig. 1) use a wet cloth and avoid using
abrasive detergents.
Never dip the main body (1 Fig.1) in water or other liquids.
Never wash the main body (1 Fig. 1) in the dish-washer.
• Remove the grill (7 Fig. 1) and the capsule drawer (6 Fig. 1), throw away any
coff ee capsules and liquid then wash both parts with conventional
detergent for washing dishes.
• Remove the water-container regularly (2 Fig. 3) and wash it with clean
water, then correctly re-set it.

DESCALING

Follow the security instructions on the Delta Q Descaling Kit.
Avoid contact with eyes, skin, machinery and surfaces around it.
• To assure the maximum quality and satisfaction of your Delta Q coff ee, and
the longevity of your machine as well, we recommend descaling regularly,
every 3 months or after 200 coff ee extractions.
Steps to follow:
• Turn off the machine and remove the plug from the mains (Fig. 9).
• In a separate bowl, dissolve the two descaling tablets in 0.5 L of water.
• Put in the tank (Fig. 12) the solution previously prepared.
• Pour the capsule drawer (6 Fig. 1).

Only use solutions suited for espresso coff ee machines.
• Make sure the lever is in the maximum aperture position (Fig. 10).
• Insert the cleaning capsule (included in your Delta Q Descaling Kit) in the
Capsule-holder compartment (Fig. 14).
