Hazards due to frequency inverters:
The control unit of the T 65 digital ULTRA-TURRAX
includes a frequency inverter. This poses the hazard that

potentially fatal voltages may persist within the unit
and at its terminals for up to five minutes after it was
switched off.
It can also be the case that when the equipment is con-
nected to the mains but its motor is not turning, hazard-
ous voltages may exist at the terminals and at the supply
leads to the motor.
Hazards due to high levels of earth leakage currents:
The control unit of the T 65 digital ULTRA-TURRAX
employs a frequency inverter and an EMC filter. This
DANGER!
poses the hazard that high values of earth leakage cur-
rents (> 3.5 mA) may arise.
In addition to the earth lead in the mains power ca-
ble, the equipment must be provided with an addi-
tional earth continuity conductor of at least 10 mm
cross-section.
• The motor and the frequency inverter are disconnected from
the power supply by switching off at the EMERGENCY STOP
switch (main switch).
Before connecting the control unit or the stand limit
switch you must make sure that no voltage is present.
Connection may be performed only by authorised
persons.
DANGER!
Working on electrical equipment: When the pow-
er supply is connected, high voltages are present on
the equipment. These high voltages can have fatal
effects if touched. Work may be performed only by

authorised persons. The applicable regulations must
be complied with.

Unpacking:

- Please unpack the device carefully.
- In the case of any damage a detailed report must be sent immediately (post, rail or forwarder).
Hazards due to the machine: The machine itself

poses hazards for the user and the user must take
appropriate precautions. The control unit has the ca-

• Additional protection is provided by use of an RCD (re-
sidual current circuit breaker) at the connection for the
T 65 digital ULTRA-TURRAX
Additional protection is provided by use of an RCD protective
device: RCD relay residual current circuit breakers can provide
additional protection provided the local safety regulations are
®
complied with. If there are faults to earth, DC elements can
arise in the fault current. Never use an RCD type A, since these
are unsuitable for fault currents that have a DC element.
If RCD relays are used, they must be suitable for:
- the protection of installations with a DC element in the fault
current (three-phase bridge rectifiers),
- short-term discharge of impulse current peaks at switching on,
2
- high earth leakage currents.
For protection of the device:
• The device may only be opened by experts.
• The voltage stated on the type plate must correspond to the
mains voltage.
• Removable parts must be refitted to the device to prevent the
infiltration of foreign objects, liquids etc..
• Protect the device and accessories from bumps and impacts.
