foods with large pips, rolled
joints of meat in nets or
foods still in their packag-
ing.
• Do not allow the machine
to run for longer than 5
minutes at a time.
• The circular blade (f) will
continue to turn for a while
after the machine has been
switched off.
• For safety, set the slice
thickness to the '0' position
after using the machine.
The machine can be switched on
and off in two different operating
modes using the rocker switch (a):
• Short-term operation: press and
hold the switch in position II. The
circular blade will run as long as the
switch is held in this position.
• Stopping short-term operation:
release the switch and wait until
the circular blade has come to a
complete stop.
• Continuous operation (5 minutes
maximum): click the switch into
position I. The circular blade will
continue to run even after the
switch is released.
• Stopping continuous operation:
briely press the switch to position II,
and then wait until the circular blade
has come to a complete stop.
If necessary, the tray for sliced
food (d) may be itted at an angle or
put aside.
The slice thickness can be
adjusted over the range of 0 to
approximately 14 mm by turning the
slice thickness adjustment knob (c)
to the required slice thickness posi-
tion. The slice thickness scale is not a
millimetre scale. For safety reasons,
the '0' position is designed to cover
the blade.
Place the food to be sliced on the
food carriage (k). If necessary, use
the food holder (j) to lightly press
the food against the stop plate (b).
Switch on the machine and feed
the food into the circular blade (f)
using light, forward pressure. Always
return the stop plate to the '0' posi-
tion after use, in order to cover the
sharp circular blade.
Protect your hands by always
using the food carriage and using
the food holder as necessary (except
with oversize food items).
AFTER SLICING
Securely clamp the inger guard (g)
and the food holder (j) in the bra-
cket. The food carriage and the tray
for sliced food can remain attached
to the machine.
Turn the slice thickness adjustment
knob (c) to the '0' position in order
to allow the safety catch to be
released.
Firmly grasp the machine by the
stop plate (b) and press the safety
catch (e) using your other hand.
Pivot the stop plate anticlockwise
until it lies fully horizontal.
Press the machine toward the cabi-
net until the latch has clearly clicked
into place.
Swing the machine into the cabinet.

CLEANING THE MACHINE

Important Safety Instruc-
tions
• Before cleaning the ma-
chine, switch it off, unplug
the mains cable and set the
stop plate (b) to the '0' posi-
tion.
• Do not immerse the ma-
chine in water.
• Caution: the circular blade
(f) is very sharp!
The machine must be cleaned occa-
sionally, since food residues that are
potential sources of spoilage may be
stuck to the machine and behind the
circular blade (f).
Remove the food carriage (k)
by pulling it forward until it stops,
lifting it slightly and pulling it away
upwards.
Clean the food carriage (k), tray for
sliced food (d) and the food holder
(j) by hand in warm water, not in
the dishwasher! Wipe the hous-
ing surfaces using a damp cloth.
Do not use abrasive detergents,
sponges with a rough surface or
hard brushes. (NOTE: observe the
instructions on the label attached to
the machine.)
Detach the circular blade by
placing a coin in the blade lock (h)
and turning it clockwise until it can
be removed.
Grasp the circular blade in the
centre and remove it. Clean it by
hand in warm water, not in the
dishwasher! Use a dry cloth or soft
brush to clean the housing behind
the blade
TIPS
The built-in brake ensures that the
machine swings down slowly when
it is pulled out of the cabinet..
If the machine swings down too
quickly, the braking force is too
small. The braking force can be
increased by tightening the knurled
screw. If the machine descends too
slowly or does not descend at all,
the braking force is too large. In
this case, the braking force can be
reduced by loosening the knurled
screw.
DISPOSAL
For disposal of the machine, remove
the mains cable and take the
machine to a proper environmental
disposal facility (such as a recycling
centre).
