ENGLISH
USE
Fold out the front and rear covers to
see the drawings showing the ma-
chine and how to use it. Please read
these instructions fully and carefully
before using the machine for the
irst time. Keep these instructions in
a safe place and include them with
the machine if you sell or otherwise
dispose of it.
Important Safety Instruc-
tions
• Connect the machine only
to a 230 VAC circuit.
• Always unplug the mains
cable in the event of any
malfunction and before
cleaning the machine. Do
not pull on the mains cable.
• Never immerse the machine
in water or expose it to rain
or other sources of mois-
ture. If it inadvertently falls
into water, irst pull the
mains plug and then remove
the machine from the water.
After this, have the machine
inspected by an approved
service centre before using
it again.
• Do not use the machine
with wet hands or while
standing on a wet loor. Do
not use the machine when it
is damp or wet. Do not use
the machine out of doors.
• The machine is intended for
household use only and not
for commercial use.
• Never allow children to
work or 'play' with the
machine. Children do not
recognise the dangers that
can arise from using electri-
cal machinery and slicing
machinery.
• To prevent children from
having access to the ma-
chine, always return it to
the cabinet after use and
close the cabinet.
• Do not leave the machine
unattended while it is in
use.
• Use the machine only
after it has been properly
installed.
• The machine should always
be installed by a qualiied
specialist. ritterwerk is not
liable for the consequences
arising from improper and/
or deicient installation.
• Do not use this machine
without the carriage and
food holder unless the size
and shape of the food being
sliced does not allow them
to be used.
• Do not slice frozen foods or
bones!
• Pull the mains plug before
cleaning the machine. Do
not immerse the machine in
water.
• In case of damage to parts
of the machine, immediately
stop using the machine and
send the complete machine
to Ritter Customer Service.
• If the power cable for the
machine becomes damaged,
it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, his customer
service department or a
similarly qualiied person,
in order to avoid risk of
personal injury.
• Use only with the included
accessories.
• No liability can be accepted
for any loss or damage aris-
ing from improper use of
the machine or use of the
machine for other than its
intended purpose.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
The machine must be properly
installed before being used (see
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS).
Clean the machine before using
it with foods (see CLEANING THE
MACHINE).
PREPARATION FOR SLICING
Important Safety Instruc-
tions
• To avoid risk of personal
injury, do not touch the
circular blade when lifting
the machine!
• When swinging the
machine down from the
cabinet, do not force it
downward.
• When releasing safety
lock, push the machine
towards the cabinet so that
it will not suddenly move
forward. When returning
the machine to the cabi-
net, hold it such that your
ingers will not become
trapped.
Grasp the handle of the front
door of the cabinet and slowly
swing it downwards until it rests
on the worktop. Do not allow the
cabinet door to fall down on its
own. The brake can be adjusted to
cause the machine to slowly pivot
downwards (see TIPS).
Press the safety catch (l) to
the left and allow the machine to
slowly move forward to its working
position.
Lift the machine using the stop
plate (b) and pivot it clockwise until
the stop plate is standing upright
and the latch has clearly clicked into
place. The tray for sliced food (d)
will automatically fold down to its
working position.
Place the inger guard on the
food carriage (k) and slide it toward
the stop plate until it has clearly
clicked into place.
If necessary, slide the food holder
(j) onto the inger guard
SLICING
Important Safety Instruc-
tions
• To avoid risk of personal in-
jury, never touch the knife
blade while the machine is
operating!
• Always use the inger
guard (g) (except when
slicing large food items).
Use the food holder (j) to
handle the inal portion of
the food being sliced.
• Use the machine only for
slicing common household
foods, and never for any
other purpose. Do not slice
deep-frozen foods, bones,
