BIAS CURRENT AND BIAS OSCILLATION FREQU-
ENCY ADJUSTMENT OF RECORD AMPLIFIER

Connect V.T.V.M.,
a c r o s s a r e s i s t o r R102 (or R202),
between the test point TPI 01 (or TP 201) and ground.
Connect an oscilloscope and a frequency counter to the
output terminals of V.T.V.M..
There are two tape selector switches: one is SW4 named a
named a metal tape ON/OFF switch. To allow the unit to
play a normal tape, set SW4 at NORMAL position and SW5
at OFF position, respectively.

Place the unit in record mode.

Adjust bias oscillation coil L303 so that the bias oscillation
frequency becomes 105 kHz.
Set metal tape ON/OFF switch SW5 to ON position.

Adjust semi-variable resistors VR301 (and VR302) so that
the V.T.V.M. reads 90mV.

Then, change metal tape ON/OFF switch SW5 to OFF
position.

See that the V.T.V.M. reading varies as tabulated Table 6-1,
as normal/CrOs tape selector switch SW4 changes its posi-
tion [NORMAL or CrOz 1.
