LogView -
Displaying serial data on a PC
With the help of LogView, which we recom-
mend and support, it is possible to visualise
and analyse the serial data from many
robbe battery chargers (including the Power
Peak E1), and export that data in a very
wide variety of forms if required.
The software can be obtained from the web
address www.logview.info, and is classed as
Donationware. If you like the program, you
have the option of making a donation to the
developers; otherwise it is free to use.
LogView offers a user interface which is
intuitive to use, and provides a means of
evaluating the data generated by a wide
spectrum of different devices. The data
received from the device is always displayed
in the same manner, which makes it gene-
rally easier for the user when handling his
equipment.
The files generated by LogView can also be
used directly by other users, even if the
associated device is not physically present.
Additional features of the software include:
* Powerful graphic engine with numerous
assessment and measurement functions.
Many display options are available, allowing

* Analysis functions are useful in examining
the state of batteries more closely.
* The curve comparison functions make it
possible to display different charge and
discharge processes in a single graph. In
particular, this is an excellent method of
assessing the quality and ageing process of
a battery, even in comparison with other
batteries.
* The object management function provides
a means of assigning graphs and informati-
on to a particular battery, and storing and
managing the data appropriately.
* Numerous export functions for graphs and
tables make it possible for other applicati-
ons to process the files.
* The integral Help system is a fast, straight-
forward method of gaining information rela-
ting to the program's functions.
