6.7. Life Expiry Message

Life expiry mode occurs at the end of mission once all the programmed cycles are performed and the
corresponding data transmitted. This mode enables to obtain a regular position of the float for an eventual
recovery. Taking into account the significant cost of Iridium packets, the following has been decided:
Technical packets will be transmitted by default every 6 hours. The transmission period at life expiry is
a technical parameter (PT30) expressed in hours.
The Iridium communication phase at life expiry will include a reception phase enabling to process the
commands via downlink.
If the float must be recovered, a command can be sent to update the transmission period and to obtain
a GPS position more frequently.

6.8. Sending message via downlink

Sending command via downlink is restricted to one PM! command by e-mail (max. 20 bytes length).
