5.9.3. Launch the Float

NOTE: Keep the float in its protective packaging for as long as possible to guard against any
nicks and scratches that could occur during handling. Handle the float carefully, using
soft, non-abrasive materials only. Do not lay the float on the deployment vessel's
unprotected deck. Use cardboard or cloth to protect it.
Use a launching crate to deploy the float to the sea. After launch, you may choose to wait alongside the float
until it sinks, but this may take up to 3 hours depending on the float's buoyancy when launched.
The damping disk is already fastened on the tube.
It is possible to use the hole in the damping disk (different from the hole used for the transmittance sensor
power / data cable) in order to handle and secure the float during deployment.
Put the rope in the hole according to the following picture:
