charging stand as this will prevent damage. Ensure that devices are
completely dry and with no cleaning agent, disinfectant or oil / cream
residues before using the charging stand or charging cable.
3.4. ATTACHMENTS
The attachments are fixed to the device via a plug connection. They
can easily be detached by turning them a quarter turn and pulling
them gently off the device. The attachments click simply onto the
device. The attachments are in the correct position when the brack-
ets on the device and the attachment lie seamlessly on top of each
other. The magnets help you to find the final position. Before starting
treatment, make sure that the respective attachment is engaged in
the intended final position.
Please refer to the drawing on page 30 for the correct position of
the attachment on the device.
4. APPLICATION & USE
The local vibration therapy with the NOVAFON vibration sound wave
device can be used as an aid in treating a number of diseases of the
musculoskeletal and the nervous system. NOVAFON vibration sound
wave devices are used by doctors and therapists. Due to their simple
handling, the devices can also be used in the home environment.
Please bear in mind that NOVAFON vibration sound wave devices can
only alleviate symptoms but never actually cure the underlying dis-
ease, nor are they a replacement for a doctor's visit. Despite being
safe, simple and non-invasive, we recommend that you discuss the
treatment with your doctor or therapist. If symptoms get worse, seek
medical advice. Discontinue the treatment immediately, if you expe-
rience nausea, dizziness, increased pain, or skin irritation. Please be
aware of the contraindications listed in section 5.

4.1 INTENDED USE

The device is equally suitable for professional use and home use.
The NOVAFON vibration sound wave device can be used in speech
therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy as well as for pri-
vate use at home.
NOVAFON devices and accessories are meant to relieve pains and
aid in relaxation of muscles.
· Temporary and transient pain of the musculoskeletal system (epi-
condylitis, tendinitis)
· Chronical pain of the musculoskeletal system (fibromyalgia, local-
ized muscoskeletal pain LMP, myofascial pain, Temporomandibular
joint dysfunction TMJD)
· Neurological diseases (spasticity after stroke, spasticity due to
cerebral palsy, hemineglect after stroke, sensomotoric disorders
after stroke, sensitivity disorders)
· Voice and swallowing therapy (dysphagia, dysphonia, swallowing
disorders after stroke, swallowing disorders in cerebral palsy)
Please note, that some use scenarios might require the use of spe-
cial NOVAFON accessories (separately available).
