9 Switching the KombiMotor On/Off

Switching On
► Hold the KombiMotor with your right hand on
the control handle – wrap your thumb around
the control handle.
► Hold the KombiMotor with your left hand on
the loop handle – wrap your thumb around the
loop handle.

► Push the release slide (1) in the direction of
the loop handle with your thumb and hold it
there.
► Depress the trigger lockout (2) with your hand
and hold it there.
You can let go of the release slide (1).
► Pull the trigger (3) with your index finger and
hold it there.
The KombiMotor accelerates and the Kombi‐
Tool runs.
The more you depress the trigger, the faster the
KombiTool runs.

Switching Off
► Release the trigger and trigger lockout lever.
► Wait until the KombiTool comes to a standstill.
► If the KombiTool continues to run: Pull con‐
necting cable plug out of the socket and con‐
tact your STIHL dealer for assistance.
The KombiMotor has a malfunction.

10 Checking the KombiMotor

Checking the Controls

Release slide, trigger lockout and trigger
► Pull the connecting cable plug out of the
socket.
► Attempt to pull the trigger lever without
depressing the release slide and the trigger
lockout.
► If the trigger can be pulled: Do not use your
KombiMotor and contact your STIHL servicing
dealer for assistance.
Release slide or trigger lockout is faulty.

► Push the release slide in the direction of the
loop handle and hold it there.
► Depress the trigger lockout lever and hold it in
that position.
► Pull the trigger.
► Release the trigger and trigger lockout lever.
► If the trigger or trigger lockout is stiff or does
not spring back to the idle position: Do not use
your KombiMotor and contact your STIHL
servicing dealer for assistance.
Trigger or trigger lockout is faulty.
Switching on the KombiMotor
► Insert the connecting cable plug.
► Push the release slide in the direction of the
loop handle and hold it there.
► Depress the trigger lockout lever and hold it in
that position.
► Pull the trigger and hold it there.
The KombiTool runs.
► If 3 LEDs flash red: Pull connecting cable plug
out of the socket and contact your STIHL
dealer for assistance.
There is a malfunction in the KombiMotor.
► Release the trigger and trigger lockout lever.
The KombiTool stops running.
► If the KombiTool continues to run: Pull con‐
necting cable plug out of the socket and con‐
tact your STIHL dealer for assistance.
The KombiMotor has a malfunction.

11 Operating the KombiMotor

11.1
Holding and Controlling the
KombiMotor
The correct way of holding and controlling the
KombiMotor depends on the KombiTool you are
using.
► Hold and control the KombiMotor as described
in the instruction manual supplied with the
KombiTool.
11.2

Selecting Power Level

One of three power levels can be selected to suit
the job in hand. The LEDs indicate the selected
power level. The higher the power level, the
faster the KombiTool can run.
The selected power level affects the battery's
runtime. The lower the power level, the longer
the runtime.
