5. Connect the Mounting Frame and Pump

NOTE: Do not use flexible tubing for this section. Do not add additional elbows or fittings between the
mounting frame and the pump elbow and union assembly. If water does not completely drain from the
tower and mounting frame, the resulting air pocket will prevent the pump from priming and the BodySpa
will not work.
Insert an O-ring and loosely hand tighten the mounting frame union nut to the 1–1/4" ID threaded
adapter fitting (found in the pump parts kit) so the elbow faces the pump outlet.
Insert an O-ring and loosely hand tighten the pump outlet elbow and nut to the pump so it faces
the mounting frame.
Connect the pump outlet/elbow to the 1–1/4" x 1–1/4" x 1" PVC tee using the 1–1/4" x 6" PVC
tubing supplied. The tee opening must face up and connect a pressure switch attached to the heater.
Measure and cut a length of 1-1/4" ID rigid PVC tubing to connect the PVC tee to the mounting
frame street elbow. Do not solvent weld the PVC connections at this time.
Use a level and measuring tape to ensure a minimum 1/4" (6 mm) per foot (30.5 cm) pitch toward
the pump.
CHECK POINT # 3.
Confirm that:
¤ The pump box is positioned within 36" (91.4 cm) of the tower mounting frame and is
oriented toward the suction (water intake) line.
¤ The suction bracket assembly has been removed from the pump box.
¤ The PVC tee is positioned between the pump outlet and mounting frame (necessary for
proper heater operation).
¤ Rigid 1–1/4" ID PVC tubing is measured, cut and fit, but not solvent welded.
¤ A minimum 1/4" (6 mm) per foot (30.5 cm) pitch from the tower mounting frame to the
pump outlet has been achieved.
