Upholstery and mattresses
For cleaning upholstery and mattresses, you can simultaneously use both the steam and vacuum
functions or else only the vacuum function (textiles tool (b)). This tool is equally suitable for the
cleaning of automobile upholstery.
For the procedure to clean the aforementioned materials, see: "Rugs and Carpeted Floors".
Please note:
Please do not clean sensitive materials (velour, leather, etc.) with the steam function. Please test a
concealed area of the materials to be cleaned beforehand for colour fastness and resistance to
heat
Houseplants
Switch on the steam function (nozzle g). Begin the cleaning from a safe distance.
Please note: You absolutely must maintain a safe distance in order to lower the steam temperature.

When performing any maintenance on the appliance, the plug
(11) must be disconnected from the electrical socket.

The SL 9500 is a very tough machine and requires only very
little maintenance.
However, in order to avoid dirt build-up in the tubes (a), hose

(d), accessory components, and dirty water tank (2) it is important
to clean the machine after use.

To do so, switch on the vacuum function and simply vacuum
up clear tap water through the parts that have been used.
Please then empty the drawn-in water out of the dirty water
tank (2) and rinse out the tank with clean water.
The dirty water tank (2), float assembly (12) and the "Venturi

effect" assembly (13) (the latter are located inside the dirty
water tank (2)), can be removed from the appliance in order
to be cleaned, as shown in illustration no. 18.

You should clean the O rings on the accessories at regular
intervals.
Clean the vacuum filter (15) at regular intervals. To do so,

disengage the filter cover (14), Fig. 19. Shake the filter and
wash it with clean water if necessary. Once dry, reposition the
filter in its seat and refit the filter cover (14).
