DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION

Maintenance reminder

• The Maintenance reminder switches on the Maintenance reminder symbol ( ) in the main
display of the control panel at defined intervals, the factory setting being 4 months.
• The Maintenance reminder symbol is acknowledged at the control panel
(see page 14, Section 1.3.10.).
• The interval can be set between 1...15 months at the control panel.
Fireplace and booster switch function
The KWL EC/ET 500 Pro comes with a control input to connect external switches. In the
menu of the control panel (Section 1.3.17) the function can be arranged. Chose the booster
switch function or fireplace switch function. Press + and - buttons simultaneously (>2 sec)
at the control panel to activate it.
Fireplace switch function
• The fireplace switch stops the extract air fan for 15 minutes and produces overpressure in
ventilation zone. Thist makes it easier to light the fireplace, for instance.
• During this function, the fireplace switch symbol ( ) is visible in the main display of the
control panel.
Booster switch function
• The booster switch raises the fan speed to the maximum speed for 45 minutes.
• During the function the booster switch symbol ( ) is visible in the main display of the
control panel.

Please note that the fireplace switch functions comply with the country-specific
regulations! To this you find important informations on page 4.
Note: The starting of the extract air fan may weaken draft in the fireplace!
Make sure that in the room a sufficient overpressure accured.

DC fan adjustment option

• KWL EC/ET 500 Pro is equipped with DC fans. The rotation speed of the supply and extract
fans may be adjusted separately.
• You can set the supply air fan at 100% and the extract air fan at 100%, for instance (factory
settings). The 8 speed levels can be adjust in the range of 65...100%.
• The adjustment is made at the control panel.
Fault signal relay (remote monitoring)
• The fault signal relay has potential-free points (24 VDC, 1A).
• Alarm of high carbon dioxide content switches the relay at 1-second intervals.
• In other fault situations, the points are closed. (e.g. sensor cable break).
