5. Using the device for the first time

Ensure that the distance between the device and the
wall is at least 50 cm at the side and the back. The
minimum distance from objects at the front is 2 m.
Plug the mains plug into the plug socket. An acoustic
sound is emitted two seconds after the device is
plugged in. The device now can be switched on
using the ON/OFF switch (0/I).
If the ambient temperature is between 18 °C and 43
°C, the device runs in cooling mode. To switch off
the device, press the ON/OFF switch again.
Cooling mode
1. Ensure that the condensation water tank is
correctly connected to the unit.
2. Slide the exhaust air hose into the guide rails at
the top of the device's back side.
Note! The exhaust air hose must be externally
routed during cooling mode so that the warm
exhaust air can be pushed outside. In order to
prevent a lack of oxygen, the room must be
ventilated from time to time.
3. Press the MODE selector switch to activate the
cooling mode. The "Cool" LED illuminates (see
"Indicator panel").
4. Press the fan speed selector switch (FAN) for fast
fan speed (HIFAN) or for slow fan speed
(LOWFAN). The corresponding LED illuminates.
Note: The room temperature should not be more
than 5 °C below the outdoor temperature when the
device is in cooling mode. The cooling mode
generally cannot reduce the room temperature to
below 20 °C. This, of course, depends on local
conditions, the outside temperature and the room
temperature before cooling begins. The higher the
outdoor temperature, the higher the attainable room
temperature.
Dehumidifier mode (Dry)
1. Ensure that the condensation water tank is
correctly connected to the unit.

2. Press the MODE selector switch to activate the
dehumidifier mode. The "DRY" LED illuminates
(see "Indicator panel").
Note! The fan speed cannot be changed. The
exhaust air hose must not be connected while the
dehumidifier mode is running.
Fan mode (FAN)
1. Press the MODE selector switch to activate the
fan mode. The "FAN" LED illuminates (see
"Indicator panel").
2. Press the "FAN" button to set the fan speed to
"Fast" (HIGHFAN) or "Slow" (LOWFAN).
Automatic vertical slat adjustment (SWING)
1. Press the "SWING" switch to activate slat
adjustment. The "SWING" LED illuminates (see
"Indicator panel").
2. Press the "SWING" button again to deactivate slat
adjustment. The "SWING" LED extinguishes and
the slats stop.
6. Installing the exhaust air hose (fig. 5)
Use only the supplied exhaust air hose. The length of
the exhaust air hose can be varied from between 500
mm to 2000 mm. For the most effective cooling the
hose should be as short as possible. Avoid kinks are
excessive bends in the hose so that the exhaust air
can be transferred out without hindrance. If you
ignore this advice, the device as a whole may
overheat and shut down. This could result in damage
to the device.
Warning!
The length of the exhaust air hose is matched to the
technical specifications of the device. Never extend
the hose as this could lead to malfunctions or faults
on the device.
A) Fitting the exhaust air hose through an open
window
Use the window adapter (1). Slide the adapter onto
the exhaust air hose and route to the outside through
the cracked window. Secure the window so that the
window adapter is kept firmly in place.
Note: Take appropriate precautions to prevent
unauthorized entry through the window.
B) Fitting the exhaust air hose through a window
pane or a wall
Cut or chisel a hole with a diameter of approx. 130
mm into the window pane or the wall.
Window pane: Attach the exhaust air hose to the
