WARNING
Important safety instructions. Follow all instructions as improper installation may cause serious damage
CAUTION
Important safety instructions. Please follow these instructions for your own and other people's safety. Keep
these instructions
The device can be used by children aged above 8 years and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities,
or who lack adequate experience and knowledge of the product, provided that they are supervised or have been adequately
instructed on its safe use and the relevant risks involved
Children must not play with the device
Do not allow children to play with the product's controls. Keep remote controls away from children
Check the system frequently, in particular all cables, springs and supports; look for any imbalance, signs of wear or damage.
Do not use the device if it needs repair or adjustment; a fault during installation or an incorrectly balanced door can cause
injury.
Cleaning and maintenance to be carried out by the user must not be carried out by unsupervised children
CAUTION
In order to avoid any danger caused by the inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-off device, this appliance must not be
powered through an external switching device, such as a timer, or be connected to a circuit that is regularly powered or
switched off by the mains power supply
CAUTION
According to current European legislation, the installation of an automation must be in full observance of the standards
envisaged by the current Machinery Directive, which enables declaration of presumed conformity of the automation. Taking
this into account, all operations involving connection to the electricity grid, testing, commissioning and maintenance on the
product must be performed exclusively by a qualified and skilled technician!
Before commencing installation, check the "Product technical specifications" (in this manual) to see if this product is suitable
for automating your driven device. If it is not suitable, DO NOT continue with the installation
The product cannot be used before it has been commissioned, as specified in the chapter on "Testing and commissioning"
The packing materials for the product must be disposed of in compliance with local regulations
Before proceeding with the installation of the product, check that all the materials are in good working order and suited to
the intended application
The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage to property, items or persons resulting from non-compliance with the as-
sembly instructions. In such cases the warranty for material defects is excluded
Before working on the system (maintenance, cleaning), always disconnect the product from the mains power supply
Provide a disconnection device (not supplied) in the system's power supply, with a contact opening distance that allows
complete disconnection under the conditions dictated by overvoltage category III
Handle the product with care during installation, taking care to avoid crushing, denting or dropping it, or allowing contact with
liquids of any kind. Do not place the product close to sources of heat or open flames. Doing so may damage it, corrupt it or
lead to hazardous situations. If this happens, stop installation immediately and contact Customer Service
• Supervise doors in motion and keep people away until the door is completely open or closed
• Take due care when using the manual release device; an open door may drop unexpectedly due to weak or broken springs, or if unbalanced
• On a monthly basis check that the drive motor inverts when the door touches an object placed at a height of 50 mm from the ground. If
necessary, make an adjustment and check once again; incorrect adjustment may constitute a hazard (for drive motors that incorporate an
anti-crush protection system that relies on contact with the lower edge of the door)
• If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its technical assistance service, or in any case by a suitably
qualified individual, in order to prevent any hazards
• When operating a biased-off switch, make sure that other persons are kept away
• When executing the manoeuvre, control the automation and keep all bystanders at a safe distance until the movement is complete.
• Do not operate the product if anyone nearby is working on the automation; disconnect its power supply before permitting any such work
to be done
INSTALLATION WARNINGS
• Before installing the drive motor, check that the door is in good condition mechanically, that is it correctly balanced and that it opens and
closes correctly
• Permanently attach the anti-crush protection warning labels in a highly visible place, or next to any fixed control panels
• Permanently attach the label for the manual release near the release mechanism
• After installation, check that the mechanism is suitably adjusted and that the drive motor inverts its motion when the door strikes an object
placed at 50 mm above ground level (for drive motors that incorporate an anti-crush protection system that relies on contact with the lower
edge of the door);
After installation check that no door parts obstruct public roadways or pavements.
• After installation, check that the drive motor prevents or blocks any opening movement when the door is loaded with a mass of 20kg, se-
cured to the centre of the lower edge of the door (for drive motors that can be used on doors with widths greater than 50 mm in diameter)
• Install the manual release mechanism at a height of less than 1.8 m.
NOTE: If removable, the release mechanism should be kept in the immediate vicinity of the door
• Install any fixed control devices at a height of at least 1.5 m, in view of the door but away from any moving parts.
NOTE: It is not required to specify a minimum height for key-operated switches
• Before installing the drive motor, remove any superfluous cables and chains and deactivate all devices, such as locking devices, not required
for motorised operation
• Check that there are no points where people could become trapped or crushed against fixed parts when your automated device is open or
closed all the way; if there are, provide protection for these parts
• Before installing the drive, check that the driven part is in good mechanical condition, correctly balanced and opens and closes properly
• Ensure that entrapment between the driven part and the surrounding fixed parts due to the opening movement of the driven part is avoided
• That the actuating member of a biased-off switch is to be located within direct sight of the driven part but away from moving parts. Unless
it is key operated, it is to be installed at a minimum height of 1.5 m and not accessible to the public
• That windows, having a gap exceeding 200 mm when open, are to be closed using a biased-off switch if the opening movement is con-
trolled by a fire-detection system
