Cleaning the condenser

5.2.2
This cleaning operation must be carried out by qualified personnel. For constant equipment performance, condenser cleaning must
be carried out regularly to avoid the build up and deposit of dirt, which will prevent the passage of air or water (for water-cooled
condensers).
Under normal conditions this operation should be carried out every two months. Cleaning may be carried out more frequently according
to the ambient conditions of machine use.
Cleaning can be carried out using the following:
a screwdriver and a long-bristled brush or better, compressed air.
CLEANING THE CONDENSER WITH A BRUSH
• Switch off the machine and disconnect it from the power supply mains.
• Open the panel covering the motor compartment.
• Proceed to clean the condenser taking care to use the brush in a direction to the wall. Take care of not bending the fins.
CLEANING THE CONDENSER WITH COMPRESSED AIR
• Switch off the machine and disconnect it from the power supply mains.
• Open the panel covering the motor compartment.
• Proceed to clean the condenser using a jet of air to blow from the inside to the outside. During these operations, it is advisable to
check the state of the component parts.
CLEANING THE WATER-COOLED CONDENSER
For units with water-cooled condensers it is advisable for a plumber to carry out cleaning operations using the proper, commercially
available, de-scaling additives.

5.3 Periodic checks

• Check that the cold room temperature is close to or at the set level.
• Check that the inlet and outlet of the air moved by the condenser are not obstructed in any way.
• Check the amount of ice in the evaporator and if this latter is blocked, carry out a manual defrost cycle. If the problem persists,
modify the defrost parameters.

5.4 Long periods out of service

In the event that the machine is left switched off for long periods of time, it is necessary to take the following precautions before
switching it on again:
• Before carrying out any operations, disconnect the machine from the main power supply.
• Check that all electrical and/or water supply connections are in good condition and if necessary, call for technical assistance.
• Check that the spaces around the machine air inlet and outlet grids are not obstructed or reduced in any way.
