3.2 Setting the bore diameter

An adjusting device or gauge is needed
for this.
This precision boring tool
electronic positioning system with digital
display . The adjustment travel of the

slider is measured directly, rendering
„
the backlash in the adjustment mechanism
insignificant. The slider is designed with
a travel limitation. During machining, the
slider must be clamped with the clamping
srew . This clamping must be opened

or clamped before and after every setting
procedure.
Do not make any diameter adjust­
ments in the clamped state! Do not
apply any force during the set­
ting procedure. The adjustment
mechanism could be damaged.
When carrying out setting procedures,
always ensure that the electronics are
switched on and that a mini­boring tool,
tool holder or dummy is mounted. Failure
to comply with this may result in sluggish­
ness during setting procedures.
Please follow the sequence for setting the
diameter as set out below:

The last displayed parameter appears
on the display

on. Automatic switch-off takes place
30 seconds after the end of the setting
procedure. Max. switch-on duration:
120 seconds.
2. Slacken the clamping screw
3. Adjust the boring range using the adjus-
ting screw while reading the display.

The actually set value for the diameter at
the slide or the cutting edge is displayed.
Note: no sign = diameter increase, minus
sign (–) = diameter reduction.
4. Tighten clamping screw
Notes:
• When the display is switched on, this
can be reset to "0" by operating the
"ON/Reset" again.

• The difference from the previously set
value or "0" is always displayed. The ab-
solute slide position cannot be displayed.
Only make size corrections on the
precision boring tool when the
electronics are switched on.
Failure to do this will result in
an undefined cutting edge position and
the precision boring tool will have to be
readjusted using an adjusting device.
