· After approx. 30 seconds, carefully blow away separation fluid
residues or droplets with the compressed air and remove from
the screw and wire retention if necessary.
Begin with the acrylic build-up using the spray-on (salt and
pepper) technique (3.2) or the doughing technique (3.3).
3.2. Spray-on (salt and pepper) technique
First, apply the powder (polymer) then the liquid (monomer)
directly onto the prepared model, alternating with gentle
pendulum movements.
Only use as much liquid as the powder can absorb. The resin
should not slump!
In order to avoid air bubbles around the screw, use more liquid
in this area at the beginning in order to allow the acrylic to flow
under the screw without hindrance.
Finally apply enough powder so that a dry powder layer remains.
This should assure an optimal fit with minimal shrinkage.
3.3. Doughing technique
Mix the Orthocryl / Orthocryl
® ®
(Volume parts – powder : liquid). Allow time to swell, with
Orthocryl approx. 5 - 7 min and with Orthocryl
®
3 - 5 min. Times may be shorter at higher room temperatures.
Then apply the acrylic directly to the model.
3.4. Application of Orthocryl
The Orthocryl liquids can be individually dyed with Orthocryl
®
color concentrates. The recommended mixing ratio is between
1 : 10 to 1 : 50 (Color concentrate : Orthocryl
dosage pipette (REF 162-101-00) guarantees accurate dosage
of the color concentrate.

3.5. Application of Orthocryl
Orthocryl Disco Glitter can be mixed together with the

Orthocryl powder as much or as little as desired. Neither the
®
application characteristics nor the properties of Orthocryl
influenced by this. We recommend mixing only a little glitter,
for example one heaped knife edge or Le Crons. Mixing ratio:
0.5 : 100 (ratio of glitter : powder).
3.6. Application of novel designs
The novel designs – for jazzing up appliances – look best in very
transparent acrylics. As the novel designs do not chemically
bond with the acrylic, these must be completely covered with
acrylic.
3.7. Processing Orthocryl
Please note, that the Orthocryl
high degree of opacity. Orthocryl

When finishing, it is important to avoid grinding the screws and
