3 Product Description

3.1 Construction and functional description

The UTS CAD is a registration device for the determination of
the angles from the occlusal plane to Camper's plane and
from the occlusal plane to the bipupillary line.
The measured angles and/or deviation of the occlusal plane
from CE/BP can be transferred to the denture design
software, which then reproduces the correct virtual position
of the occlusal plane for the design of the denture.
CE = Camper's plane
Camper's plane runs from the nasal spine to the lower edge
of the external auditory meatus.
BP = Bipupillary line
The bipupillary line runs through the centre of the pupils of
the left and right eye of the patient.

3.2 Indications, Contraindications

Indications:
Determining the angle of the occlusal plane to Camper's
plane
Determining the angle of the occlusal plane to the bipupillary
line
Contraindication:
The device cannot replace a transferbow for skull/TMJ-
related model transfer to the articulator.
