If you are unable to resolve the problem by following this Trouble Shooting Guide,
please contact your local HemoCue distributor or HemoCue AB.
Symptom
The analyser shows an error code.
E00
E01–E05
E06
E07
E08
E09 – E30
E35
Explanation
May be a temporary fault.
No stable endpoint is found within the time range.
1. The cuvette is faulty.
2. The circuit board is out of order.
1. Fault or dirt in the optronic or electronic units.
1. Unstable blank value. The analyser might be cold.
1. The battery power is too low.
The absorbance is too high.
1. Light blocking item in the cuvette holder.
1. Fault or dirt in the optronic or electronic units.
1. The current measurement has been incorrectly stored
and will remain as error code E35 until the entire
memory has been deleted.
Action
Turn off the analyser and turn it on again after 30 seconds.
Take a new microcuvette and repeat the measurement.
If the problem continues, see specific error code below.
1a. Check the expiry date for the microcuvettes.
1b. Take a new microcuvette and repeat the measurement.
2. The analyser needs service. Contact your distributor.
1a. Turn off the analyser and clean the optronic unit
using the HemoCue Cleaner.
1b. The analyser needs service. Contact your distributor.
1. Turn off the analyser and allow it to reach room
temperature. If the problem continues, the analyser
needs service. Contact your distributor.
1a. The batteries need to be replaced. Turn off the analyser
and replace the batteries, 4 type R6 or AA, 1.5 V.
1b. Use the mains power supply.
1a. Check that the analyser and microcuvettes are being
used according to the HemoCue Hb 201
manual and instructions for use.
1b. The analyser needs service. Contact your distributor.
1a. Turn off the analyser and clean the optronic unit
using the HemoCue Cleaner.
1b. The analyser needs service. Contact your distributor.
1a. No action is normally required.
1b. If storage problems continue, the analyser needs
service. Contact your distributor.
