Advanced Spoke Detection

This mode of operation makes it possible to detect the
position and the dimension of the spokes of the rim
with absolute precision in order to be able to position
the weights behind the spokes with the most precision.
It allows a more precise placement of weights behind
the spokes. If the laser scanners cannot recognise the
spokes or the operator decides he/she is dealing with
a rim with a particularly complex shape, enable the
Advanced Spoke Detection function which recognises
any type of spokes, even those with unusual shapes,
for example: paired, oblique, with holes or of different
sizes to one another (Fig. 5-16).
Before performing the measuring run:
•
From the SETTINGS screen select "Spoke Detection"
then "ADVANCED".
•
Perform the normal procedures for the run.
Note: This function increases the time for the total
measuring cycle by 5 seconds.
If the Spokes Count function is active, the screen
shown in the figure is displayed during the measuring
run (Fig. 5-17)
