Periodically top up with water to maintain the
desired level.
temperature setting
When connected to the mains electricity supply the
LED display will illuminate and show the word OFF.
Switch the unit on by pressing the "Power On/Off"
knob. The display will momentarily show the set
temperature followed by the actual water
temperature in degrees Celsius.
Press and hold the "Press to set" button. The display
will show the set temperature. The set temperature
may be adjusted by turning the "Temperature
adjustment" knob whilst continuing to hold in the
"Press to set" button. When the desired setting is
displayed release the "Press to set" button. The
display will revert to show the actual water
temperature and the bath will begin to heat.
The set temperature can be observed at any time by
pressing the "Press to set" button.
Turning the adjustment knob without pressing the
"Press to set" button will have no effect on the
temperature setting.
hot indicator
When the bath temperature rises above 50ºC, the
hot indicator will begin to flash. This will continue
even when the power is turned off at the "Power
On/Off" knob until the water temperature falls
below 50ºC. When the power is off, the LED display
will also glow with the word "Hot" until the water
temperature is below 50ºC.
CaUtiON - Use protective gloves to
remove hot vessels.
low water level sensor
The low water level sensor is designed to provide a
warning when the water level has become too low
in order to protect the bath from overheating. When
the water level drops below the sensor, the LED
display will flash "H2O" and "ERR" to indicate that
the water level is too low and the heater will switch
off. The heater may be re-started by filling the bath
above the level of the sensor.
Drain tap
The drain tap allows for easy removal of the bath
water for maintenance and cleaning. Ensure the
bath is turned off and the water is cool before
draining.
Direct the hose from the drain trap to a sink or
waste collection vessel. Open the tap valve and
allow the water to flow out. Close the tap before
re-filling.
Maintenance & Servicing
WarNiNg: Ensure the unit is disconnected
from the mains electricity supply before
attempting maintenance or servicing.
Maintenance
It is recommended that the bath is drained, cleaned
and re-filled on a weekly basis to avoid build up of
salts and contamination. For baths that are used for
biological applications and heated to physiological
temperatures, regular heating to >60ºC for 30
minutes can be used to thermally disinfect the bath
before cleaning. Do not use bleach (sodium
hypochlorite) or other chlorine based solutions as a
disinfectant.
Cleaning
In general baths should be cleaned with a mild
household or laboratory detergent using a sponge or
soft cloth. Scouring powders, steel wool or other
abrasive pads should not be used. Scale build up can
be removed using a mild household descaler suitable
for stainless steel; follow the manufacturer's
instructions for correct use. Rinse thoroughly after
cleaning and dry the bath.
For cleaning of the low water level sensor, Freon and
alcohol based solvents are recommended. DO NOT
use chlorinated solvents such as trichloroethane as
these are likely to attack the sensor material.
Periodically clean the outside of the unit using a
damp cloth and mild detergent solution. Do not use
harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
Servicing
any repairs or replacement of parts MUSt be
undertaken by suitably qualified personnel.
